  • Please Note: Gay is a synonym for homosexual as well as HAPPY. Obviously the person who made this video doesn't know it, but READ THIS BEFORE POSTING comments about the men kissing. Thanks.

  • You are very blinkered. A period song but the pictures have got jumbled. Gay in 1914 - 18 had nothing to do with homosexuality as you suggest. Read a bit more before posting a such personal statement as this.

  • 2 Guys kissing, really?

    Disrespectful.

  • @112Boysie Disrespectful of whom?

  • Nice song.

  • the gay picture was not needed. Dont mix faggot pics with history.

  • @JunglistJeff I found that rather offensive myself. As a self respecting straight Canadian (member of the Commonwealth), I think that that picture was certainly not necessary. They should have put a picture corresponding to the meaning of it during the time. "Gay" was used and is defined as "happiness."

  • @JunglistJeff *bops* I don't think that picture's appropriate either, but I'd still have some respect for you if you'd just ended it at the first sentence.

  • everyone was gay =)

  • @hrozhek

In those days, gay meant happy. And it still does. But it's more and more and more often said for what we all know.

  • @Briselance i know this, but this clip plays it funny

  • @hrozhek

    Yeah,kinda. ^^

  • @Briselance nice to know :)

  • tipperary is a legend place boii...i go there tons of times

  • is it just me? or did i see two guys kissing?

  • There are stupid faces.

  • my granddad sung this song, and what a song i love it and im 27

  • my uncle was a danish freedom fighter during ww2, he is dead now but he have told me tons of stories. He saved jews by sailing them to sweeden, executed gestapo people, smugled weapons, sabotaged railroads, freed british pilots who had been shot down and fought the germans along with the rest of the freedom fighters during the last days of the war.

  • Obama knew somebody cured of being gay (the book "Obama:Why Black America Should Have Doubts" shows this)!

  • Loled at the ancient voice

  • absolut geschichtsträchtige musik!!! gut eingespielt! aber warum mit softi gothic look?

  • one of the guys i work with sings this all the time... omg its older than i thought! :O

  • dont really care for the video, but u did good with the old photo shoots style video

  • This is disrespectful.

  • Happy Veterans Day Mo'fuggas

  • Doesnt it mean Happy when it says Gay?? This was written a hundred years ago...

  • Great song. The fond memory to all who died in the First and Second World Wars.

  • It's not disrespectful, it's am anti war song. The play it was written for was supposed to point out how stupid it is to have war in the beginning. These songs shouldn;t bolster british pride, and any offence is caused by the war. It was a stupid idea...

  • this is quite Disrespectful

  • back during the first ww1,everyone was gay means everyone was light- hearted ,jovual, happy, had nothing to do with homosexuality

  • Wait! The Girl from The Grudge is the sweetest girl you know? LOL! I'd hate to know who a bad girl is then!

  • Youtube classic :)))

  • Your friend is not singing the song because this is a well-known John McCormack recording. Give credit where it's due!

  • @GreyScarfProductions I think he meant Lip Sync.

  • god bless the guys who fought for the freedom we take for granted today.

  • God Rest them all,

They lived and died in hardship and came from all corners of the world to liberate it from fascism. It was about an Ideal and not an Identity.

  • Doesn't he mean "gay" as happy?

  • @H0llaZ1990 I think so

  • Who's the fag lipsyncing in it?

  • we where drinking beer at canteen in belgium back in 1915....lol lol lol....heck I'm sorry...

  • owl1970 you idiot asshole !!! burn him!! slash him!!! KILL THAT NAZI PIG

  • @Jerrysis

    wat did he/she say?

coolio song btw luv the lyrics

  • Its Long

  • I learned this song for the boys choir in India o_O

  • 0:43 thats what i wack off to :)

  • what the heck!!!

  • Your wrong, it is about Tipperary, Ireland, but it is a British music hall and marching song written by Jack Judge in 1912, and Judge was an Englishman born and bred in Worcestershire. His Grandparents were from Tipperary, and he made it for them.

The Connaught rangers made it world famous by singing it whilst they marched to war in 1914.

After that everyone sung it, but its an English song.

  • If his gradparents came from Ireland, then that means that at least one of his parents were Irish also. Which would make him at least half Irish. If you did some research I think you will find he regarded himself Irish.......!

  • You dont know what your talking about, so dont even pretend, his grandparents although born in Tipperary moved to England, and Jack Judge was born in England, and the song was a tribute to his grandparents.

And where did you hear that he regarded himself Irish? Dont tell me, your brothers mate knows someone that told you.

Regarded himself Irish! If id had a penny for every time ive heard that.

  • @j0andc0 And his parents wre from county mayo

  • no its about ireland.. The US soldiers changed it to "Thats not how to tickle mary"

  • sorry partner you are wrong

  • OH RITE! SORI EVERY1, MY MISTAKE!

  • Combien n'ont jamais revu Piccadilly ou leur typperary!

  • I love old war songs, but what was with the grudge girl in this video?

    I got scared!

  • hi ! toutes les filles de Piccadily...

  • People forget when they hear this song, that the Irish who longed for independence from British, were conscripted by the British not the Irish.Bit like Canada being at war and then conscripting British people to fight for them.

  • You really ought to learn some basic facts the Irish were NEVER conscripted by the British not even in Northern Ireland in WW2. It was a bill (never enforced)l to introduce conscription in 1918 that gave the independence movement a boost.

The Irish from Ireland in WW1 were all volunteers and were the largest contingent Ireland ever sent to war.

Nothing like Canada as Ireland had been part of the UK of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland for over 100 years.

  • @davidglow3 wow, the fucking brits got us to fight for them....excuse me they treat us very low.Us Canadians did Better then any FUCKING OTHER COUNTRY out there to get back Our Freedom from the british common wealth( sadly we are still with them). We were the only Country to volunteer our soilders to fight for a cause that was not are own.Don't you or anybody else ever smack talk US Canadians or we'll put you back into place fast and easy.Have yourselve a fine night.

  • @MisfitsToFreaxxs13

No disrespect to our proud northern neighbor. We love you up there. :)

But us Americans was the first to win independance in a war from Britain. The loss of the 13 colonies brought about the collapse of the "British Empire" in the long run. It showed they were vulnerable

America does not treat you low, you are our brothers bore from Britains womb who found their own identity, just as we have.

Be proud of your roots, rather than scorning them, sir.

  • My grandfather fought in WW2, along the British, even though he was Greek. In his last few days, before he died of Alzheimer's, this was the only thing he sang. God bless him, and everyone who fought for the right thing in that war.

  • @chrisdp3 Yeah god bless the Germans!

  • @chrisdp3

My grandpa is Soviet WW2 veteran, participant of May 9th 1945 parade on the Red Square, if you know what I mean, and it's his favourite song along with "Coming in on a wing and the prayer" (Original, English version, of course). Hi's very bad mentally now too, but he sings these two foreign songs perfectly

  • @chrisdp3 In war there is no good or bad side, cause both sides are fighting for what they think is right.

  • this video suxed

  • lol this is soo funny when people reamke it

  • goodbye Piccadilly so long Lester Square its a long long way to Tipperary but my hearts right there.....it makes me feel like i should follow my roots and move there even though i dont know much about the place other than its in Ireland. jk

  • i should have said farewell Lester Square oops

  • i love this song!

but i cant find it on limewire,

    could any1 help?

  • Good song, glad we won the war and you have the freedom to video what you want to a song, even if others don't approve.

  • ***** from croatia, god bless all souls who fought and died in WWI and WW2

  • we will remember

  • i agree this video is a bit of a shame to our society but unfortunatly in this world we have people who dont respect others, but still a great song shame about some of the video

  • its the same story about my great grandfather who thought in ww2 and he was blown up by a bomb they never found his body

  • Wow, he must of thinking reeeeeeeeeeal hard!

  • How long?

  • W*nker, did you know the Lee Enfield Rifle could kill at 1 mile distance. Lets hope you never get within 1 mile of me.

  • Too right! My great-great grandfather was killed in action in the march of 1918. This video is a sickening disgrace, and what makes it worse, is you had two men kissing *vomits*. I hope that if you do a remake of this vid, you will use more appropriate actors and show some respect to the people who fell for what they thought was a good cause and their country.

  • oh shut up tosser, so what if men kiss, ergh old fashioned no good cunt is what u are, i am in the army so dont do any comments back that say what would u know about war and respect for the country u dickhead, i hope ur children r gay u should learn to respect others,

  • Comment removed

  • this video is a disgrace and is a mockery to those who have not only fought but gave their lives for this country! I for one find it offensive!

  • did they die?

  • juat coz it says that every was gay remember it mean happy joyful etc

  • I know what you mean, the real meaning of gay is happy. Nowdays it means something else.

  • what kind of sod made up the new meaning to the word gay to be a homosexual!? It is damn well stupid.

  • How far though?

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobu

  • well said cocaPepsis

  • The lyrics 'For everyone was gay' were synchronized with the picture of the two kissing men. That made my day. Thank you, you're the best!

  • When this song was made gay meant happy, so its a misleading picture to use in that context

  • you used toy solgers in some partes didnt you?

  • Shame on John McCormack! What pain and suffering did the British army inflict on the people of Tipperary and the rest of Ireland, between the years of 1916 and 1922? McCormack the west Brit! Oh Yes! lets all have a laugh at the Irish, lets all sing, its a long way to Tipperary! What, old boy!

  • Molly wrote a neat reply to Irish Paddy O

Saying, "Maike Maloney wants to marry me, and so

Leave the Strand and Piccadilly, or you'll be to blame, For

love has fairly drove me silly - hoping you're the same!"

    It's missing ;D

    But nice anyways. Thank you!

  • John McCormack rules.

  • you are a weird little creature

  • You senseless little sod! Shame on you...

  • y otros...lamentablemente

  • This is a great song but the Video is PANTS

    WHY BOTHER?????

  • I agree with mark042683; Shame on you mocking this song and all the people who fought in both wars!!! You have not the faintest idea about these issues. You must show consideration for old british soldiers; without their sacrifice heedless people like you would be singing Horst Wessel every morning (and I fought against british soldiers but they deserve my consideration as professionals, beyond their government actions).

  • Why would you mock this song?

Have you fought in a battle situation?

This was one of the songs that gave WW1 Veterans hope!

Please don't disgrace something you don't understand...

  • Comment removed

  • Did you listen to that KICK-ASS harmony

    Damn

Tokin it for our brothers fighting the Kaiser

  • God bless Harry Patch

  • good old classic song great for a sunday afternoon and rememberin the war!!

  • remembering the war? how old are you?

2009-1914 = 95 years ago; let's say you were 17 when the war began; then you were born 1914-17 = 1897

    2009-1897 = 112 years old

That's quite a long time, old man!

  • well i do have ppl in my family who were in the war!

  • of course...I was just joking because some people actually type their age as "107" or so in order to get access to the "adult" videos LOL

  • k lol!

  • ummm you could still remember the war without having been born anywhere around that time, 11th november?? everyone remembers you fucking arrogant bellend he was making a nice gesture which you had to ruin, fucking cunt

  • Cymro sydd yn canu hon yn y fideo yma yndyfe?

  • i love this song, i first heard it on a movie called "DAS BOOT", but i think that this version was bader:(

  • My friend laught his ass off! but i think its a little disrespectful................was some war veteran singin this song?

  • yeah, why not.

  • lOVE THAT LAST PANEL. Of course I don't remember WWI (wasn't born yet) but my dad used to sing this song to us. I do remember WWII and it is very upsetting that there are those who make fun of soldiers who fought and died in those wars. Don't they realize that if the Allies would not have defeated Germany, they would not be able to post their silly inane comments? May God forgive them.

  • @sasukeman123

    suckit123 times a day !

  • It sounds like John McCormack.

  • @terminator363 not a war vet, this was a WW1 marching song for the irish soldiers. it is very disrespectful. i'd view it as mocking them, imo.

  • great song, video is disgraceful.

  • love that song...but you're only a faggot

  • It´s a great song. First time I have heard it where on the movie "Das Boot DC", vor a long time on vhs. Last week i remamber the song, dont now the name, and wonts to now the fucking Name but can´t remebmer.

So I am happy to find it on youtube, thx @ all!

  • You cunts. I will find you and shove a pole up your bum. Who the fuck would mock a veteran?!

  • Looks like this song has been hijacked by a bunch of faggots.

  • it does appear so. some ugly cunt thinks its funny as fuck to record in black n white n take the piss out of tommy's.

  • Hey! bring some more beer just like before back in 1914 at canteen in Belgium!

  • mm no its not its just 1 mile xD you know they say its a long way to tipprary.

  • we used to sing this in school!!!

  • me too

  • why there there those fags kissing

  • Because there is a lyric in the song "where everyone was 'gay'."

Of course, no one mentioned that the word gay has been a synonym for "happy" in the English language for 1,000 years...and only recently implies that someone is queer.

  • tippeay is a quality place

  • How dare you disgrace this fine song with images of poofs.

  • up the fucking premier by from tipp

  • der letzte deutsche WKI Veteran ist letzte Jahr gestorben

  • nicht ganz, es war der letzte veteran der verdun- schlacht.

  • I live in the US and you're right we do have two veterans of WWI living here, however one of them is actually Canadian and fought between 1916-1918. The other is an American, Frank Buckles, and he volunteered at I believe the age of 15 or 16, which is absurd, but he shows up on the news every once in a while and for a 107 year old he is doing quite well.

  • Was he the one on the tele recently about building a Great War Memorial?

either way, send him my reguards and thanks for his services.

  • «it's à long way Winsor palace,I'll be King tomorrow »

  • Well, if ever a face needed a good slap!

  • Oh YouTube, I sometimes wonder why I still read these comments. What's next? Will I get a MySpace account, Facebook, or even *gasp* Bebo. No, I won't fall quite THAT low, but you get my point.

  • is that the kid out of dazed and confused

  • Hey !you guys watch your language respect the heros*

  • gay means happy in this song, go buy a fucking dictionary if you do not belive me, over the years since this songs recording, 1915, slang has RUINED the english

the streets were paved with gold SO EVERY ONE WAS HAPPY!, YA KNOW,GLAD WITH THEIR LIVES!

  • Hey, I'm glad you were so intellectual about this, that I know. It does mean happy, they were happy due to the fact that the streets were so gloriously paved with precious gold. Thank you, this film is made purely out of the intent to be humorous and contains elements of parody. Thank you for your concern.

  • I understand your feelings towards it, mate but slang has not, in any way, ruined the language. that is such an over dramatic, sensationalist statement. Slang has only enriched the language. Whether you like certain words or hate them, the language is flexible enough that words are constantly added or modified. You have the opportunity to use words or ignore them, that can only be a good thing and if you think the language is ruined, it's up to you to flourish your own vocabulary.

  • Wow, what an intelligent, perceptive comment! Do you think all your friends and relatives will be impressed with your insight and erudition?

  • Fucking gay, idiot find a life you are stinky.

I hate gays fuck your mom noob. Find a better life go buy a new life fucking motherfucker
