I think that's exactly the point! That Burns wrote an anthem about the Universality of Humanity & our common, shared experience, it MUST be embraced as the Anthem of the Nation that gave us Rab Burns! It would be the perfect tribute to him!

I saw this when it went out first. Thought he was weak, poor, no attempt to do it well. Decided I didn't like Paolo. A year later, we were in Venice, and heard a song playing which was great. Asked who it was - they said 'He's Scots! He's Italian too!' - it was Paulo's album. Since then have bought two albums. Love what he does. But this was crap and still is... neither does Paolo justice, nor the song...
