Dave has feel and passion while most shredders get off on speed and sweeping (not calling Dave a shredder). But all three are badass! I just get tired of the nintendo shred and harmonies in every solo.
@spangsman he is definitely not the best gutiarist ever. hes good for sure, but hes not on the same level as most greats. as a shredder he cant compare to Buckethead or paul gilbert.
Navarro is quite possibly the BEST guitarist EVER. He can definitaly out "shred" 100 out of 100 metal guitarists. But more importantly his ability to shred doesn't consume him. He has a lot slower tempo songs and solos that are amazing. As for his tune here it is probably because he is playing a shitty ass ibanez instead of his usual PRS. I was at this show and was always interested in why he wasn't playing PRS.
@spangsman You being serious? All his licks are just blues licks in typical blues phrasings. He's melodic for sure and a good guitarist but best guitarist ever? Don't think so. If he's the best, then Chris Broderick and Jeff Loomis are GODS!!!
@syxxsyxxsyxx He's better than Chris Broderick or Jeff Loomis dude. Tell those guys to go out and write an album like the first two Jane's Addiction albums, they could never do it. Endgame was pretty good, but Chris Broderick's playing can't live up to the Marty Friedman or Chris Poland eras. Hell, even the Jeff Young era Megadeth is better than the Broderick era Megadeth. And nevermore just plain sucks, I'd rather hear blues licks than a song made up of just diminished arpeggios.
