  • Little here, little there... VEry BAD performance! LOL

  • I don't care if he made a mistake. I don't care if he made ten mistakes. His mistake sounded good!

  • LIKE!!!!!!!!

  • I THINK ITS PERFECTLY ALRIGHT TO CRITICIZE HIM ABOUT HIS WRONG NOTE. U KNOW WHY? ITS BECUZ HEIFETZ HAS ELEVATED HIMSELF TO SUCH PERFECT STANDARDS; HE WANTS PERFECTION, THEREFORE WE MUST JUDGE HIM VERY STRICTLY. I LOVE HEIFETZ, THATS WHY IM A BIT DISSAPPOINTED WITH THE WRONG NOTE.

  • @ConquistadorAlfred can u even play this?

  • @ConquistadorAlfred good. cause many people are like blah blah blah, he messed up here and there and everywhere but they have never even seen the music. And ya he did elevate himself, but that part is very easy to mess up on, and if u listen closely, as a violinist you should be able to pick out the fact that he made alot of intonation errors and other "small" mistakes in this recording so he might have had lacking focus towards the ending.

  • @THEMOVIEMAKER202 i commented on that part since everyone was talkin abt it :p

  • Thank you very much !

  • never been a better violinist before and after

  • Heifetz is the greatest violinist the world will ever know.

  • О.....еть!!!

  • Splendid!

  • Heifetz did make some mistakes in his recording. If you listen carefully you'll pick them up usually a few, but I still love his recording! It's 100 times better than edit 128 places in just Beethoven violin concerto first movement alone.

  • @snowmen10 Still! : )

  • классно

  • классно

  • OMG HE MESSED UP LOL

  • 2EZ4 Jascha Heifetz.

  • w w w yutube com/balladforisrael

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • who is the pianist?

  • "The technique, the great precission, these can be explained. For the heart, what musicians call 'the line' there are no words; we can only listen" . . .

  • Perfection was never more perfect - technique, musical feeling - why are people comparing? Heifetz set the bar - many are and have reached similar bars - but there is only one Heifetz.

  • @Baruchyoseph8 Before WW2 Vasa Prihodah was generally regarded as the supreme technician. He was shunned after the war, partly because he refused to boycott Nazi occupied countries, partly due to the situation regarding Alma Rose; this is why Prihodah is little known today. There is an excellent, audio only, posting of Prihodah playing this. His ease of playing of Paganini's music is quite bewildering.

  • @Baruchyoseph8 Heifetz did not set the bar. There were many other greats playing just as great as him. The only thing different about Heifetz is his constant use of ruboto in his playing. All he had the biggest carrer also, traveling over 2 million miles. Many violinist such as Kreisler who had to join the army, Josef Hassid who passed before his late 20's, Vasa Prihoda who Shiveringflower mentioned, Huberman Bronislaw, Eugene Ysaye, Josef Szigeti, and many more.

  • Like perlman said ..'' he is like a tornado moving in one place'' this is the phraze that represents Heifetzs playing he is really like a tornado he is fabulus !furiozo and he has a strong spirit

  • lukas david live scherzo tarantella better

  • @lordhenrywotton69 Ok, now here. How about you run along and enjoy your little lukas david's playing and leave us here to enjoy the real master's playing, k?

  • sounds like vengerov, or vengerov sounds like him!! exactly same tempo!

  • Thank you for posting! This is no doubt the definitive performance of the Scherzo Tarantelle.

  • By the way,

it's the EdwinFischer1886 upload, with Artur Balsam, that you should listen to regarding Menuhin. (NOT the later recording upload from adamwas with Baller on piano). The early Menuhin is a remarkable and instructive comparison to this.

Which is better? Does it matter??

  • 3:03 is the only thing you can REALLY notice.. the others only if you have a really good ear...

  • Comment removed

  • Menuhin is better but neither are in the league of the greats you can hear in early recordings.

  • @2ndviolinist All of the great musicians, past - present are "better" ... there's an interesting interview of Pinhas Zuckerman discussing violinists (on CBC radio (maybe also on tv)- his comments, especially about Heifetz, are especially insightful ... and he's no slouch as a violinist himself (Zuckerman)

  • *His biggest mistake is just after 0:07 on the scale going down

  • I think it's actually at 3:01 and 3:03

  • no, wieniawski didnt write it the way heifetz wanted to play it so HE was wrong :P

  • It's really stupid to make any discussion about Heifetz. HI IS THE GREATEST VIOLINIST in any centuries!

I like Maxim Vengerov very much, but NOBODY and NEVER will tuch the level of Mr. Jasha Heifetz! He is the LORD of all VIOLINISTS!

  • don't forget about Paganini and Ysaye!

  • the truth is, they haven't been recorded, people who heard paganini say he hada gorgeous sound but ive serious doubts that it was better than heifetz

  • what do u think about Kreisler?

  • Ooooo! I love Kreisler! BUT: he is from the "OTHER age".... He had a totally other way and mind to play.

  • To me, kreisler is like a king of violinists :)

  • @nokia1242000 interestingly enough, when kreisler came back from watching heifetz play, he told his colleagues, "well, the rest of us might as well break our violins in between our legs"

  • anyway will maxim play again ??? i love heifetz and i think he is one of the greatest violinist ever just said that i liked more vengerov....

  • yasha heifetz better and cleaner lol

for me he is the best violonist.

not maxim. and now maxim doesn't play. he stopped like 2 years ago.

he is my oncle so i know that.

  • heifetz ftw! his precision is remarkable, vengerov doesnt have anything on him!

  • @ViolinSpaz I like Vengerov version much better - more musical and passionate

  • @ViolinSpaz dumbass

  • Simplesmente perfeito Jascha Heifetz na cabeça

  • He did not mess it up at 3:03. You just don't understand this type of music....

  • I do prefer another performance though...

  • Its pretty depressing to see that as the only comment on a video of jascha heifetz playing something like this, "hey he messed up at 3:03".

Heifetz plays this better than anyone I've heard man...don't you have anything else to say?

  • indeed, heifetz is BRILLIANT. I learnt this piece last year... I got it done... but its almost impossible to play it without stuffing up somewhere! he does a brilliant job.

  • @PlatypusofCalifornia who gives a shit? so he points out a mistake. big deal. its not like hes acting like hes better than heifetz or anything

  • @PlatypusofCalifornia heifetz is my favorite, but there's nothing wrong with saying he messed up at 3:03 cuz he did. ppl have the right to say a fact. but we judge the song OVERALL, and this version is one of the best.

  • You are right... Thx for comment.

  • try to mess like heifetz does you will be so happy to mess like him:]

  • @MadAznViolinist HAHAHA u make me lol

  • @MadAznViolinist He didnt mess up.

  • @kiop9000 ya he did

  • @MadAznViolinist do you know ANYthing about violin?

  • @MadAznViolinist

Really, Heifetz has too many serious fans to make a joke like that. But I thought it was funny nonetheless! Did you know that Michelangelo also totally messed up the hands on his David statue?

  • @MadAznViolinist

hes human. and nobody cares about missed notes. except u.

  • @MadAznViolinist You messed up " a lot" at 3:03
