  • Gavin rockin' the fu manchu! :) haha

  • the drummer...fucking funky playing that drums i like it..

  • no one ever shows love for dredg live... not me i jump around and piss off as many people as i can, dredg animals as leaders circa best show ever

  • If you like Dredg then check out A CULT LIKE VULTURE YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!

  • Awesome music, bad performance

    thats Dredg!

  • Thanks to f0rest 2010 video for introducing me to this song. Awesome song... :D

  • De las mejores bandas que e escuchado.

  • Pick up your bass drew! Stop playing around with that toy.

  • the late jim morrison

  • Dude looks like Jim Morrison

  • they were in my Valley! NICE!!!

  • i love this band so much but this is one of the few songs i dislike

  • they get better with every live show and every album. obviously not as raw as first album but really an amazing band. the talent here is immense. i love them and will see them whenever i can.

  • @antixian too bad their latest album sucks

  • @DURPINE yea i thought that too first few listens. this band isnt one you can casually listen to. you have to put forth effort and the more you hear it the more it grows on you. for instance the song the tent on that new album is fuckin awesome. lyrically most of the songs are great. musically its very different and takes some getting use to.

  • I liked The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion more than Catch Without Arms...

  • buena banda

  • at least they are better than half the garbage thats on vh1 and mtv

i wish there was more people like dredg...i saw them friday on the blue sky noise tour

    they were amazing

  • @blakkoctane Same here! Now i love them but circa was beautiful! SAW THEM IN MESA,AZ

  • @thebronzebat I always hear this, but never that a band's new albums are better. I've come to the conclusion that most people just like complaining.

  • @thebronzebat you are quite correct sir. i have no idea what is going on in this vid... El Cielo forever.. sigh..

  • these guys are awesome. If i wasn't watching this, I would think it was off of a cd. Phenominal band

  • I really don't get why people expect the crowd to go crazy. Personally, I would hate if they did that. I more want to watch the show and listen to the music more than hear people screaming and have to look over them to see the stage...

  • Personally they're a perfect band and one of my favorite's as well.

  • DANG, DANG, DANG!!! Why do they always have to get chunky!!! I realize I'm having a pitiful moment of pettiness for which I apologize, but the man is simply too perfect to hide under 30 extra pounds and 12 layers of clothing! :-( Ok, the petty moment passed, these guys are a breath of fresh air!!!!

  • this song gives me chills and bubble bees in mu mind.

  • What a great band! And great song, too. Man, oh, man. I've got to start buying this band's albums.

  • the older albums are way more crunk!

  • god damn his voice... the most amazing thing ever.

  • best song of the album

  • he has to improve his monitoring, never tunes perfect the voice...

by the way the band is so so great

  • they're pretty brave :)

nice song, good meaning and even a jazzy bassline :D

  • not impressed.

was a fan from the start back before the millenium.

    liked their old shit better.

    too wannabe artsy hipster shit.

  • The lyrics from this earlier live version differs from the studio album version. Still great though.

  • Look for Dredg -Saviour by user VonFront. It is an interview with Gavin talking about the song.

  • do you know anywhere were you can see the rest of the songs other than the ones VonFront posted?

  • You know, I don't really know where he even got those interviews, they aren't really branded as anything, unless he actually did them himself, then I guess he ripped from a source, you might shoot him a message and ask where they came from. Good luck!

  • bitte sag nicht das das sein ernst is Oo

  • speak english! D:

  • alter du freak.. was aht das denn mit dredg zu tun !?

  • I saw 'em in Atlanta the first time they played Lightswitch. The new stuff is a bit different, but grew on me for sure.

  • newnlyrics?

  • Dredg is sooooo under rated it's not even funny!

  • I like how Dredg changes things up. For me, shows that they're a great band. I'm still a HUGE fan of El Cielo and Catch Without Arms though.

  • i just can't get into their newer stuff :\

  • that's too bad, but i know what you mean...

  • what a fuckin crowd there.

standing around like living statues while dredg is performing great...

  • haha, i sort of feel you, but i dont know how many people feel like dancing or moving around when it's 110 degrees and you're about 6 bowls deep. great show though, wish you coulda been there.

  • dredg is a band you sit and enjoy, not mindlessly fling and dance to.

  • @errorlogic yeah really they obviously hadn't seen Dredg before or they'd be dancing and moving like crazy!

  • @errorlogic try rocking out in the desert sun and tell me how u feel when your done :)

  • Comment removed

  • @errorlogic they are in a trance... and not the house music kind.

  • I get to see them in Portland tomorrow with the RxBandits. I'm so excited

  • I hate how you could barely hear the guitar. Kinda plays an important part.

  • this song is awesome the way its played, the problem with todays music is every band sounds like every ordinary dull band and all you hear is the guitar and nothing else, this song brings out the Bass and the sthyns which were popular in the post punk era and the seventies, Drege is original, and I love this song the way its performed, its got funk and style unlike all the dull dorky shit today! More bands should sound like this instead of all the untalented musicians getting paid today!

  • The beginning of this song makes me feel like fucking a fatty.

  • lolwut

  • Hahahaha now that you mention it, roflz XDDDDDD

  • yeah this was much earlier. They played this live a few months before The pariah, the parrot, the delusion was released and it was perfect.

  • starts out like porn music

  • Dredg>>>>>everybody else

  • Heh I really like this song. If the whole new album was like this I'd be pissed but one fun pop song isn't anything to whine about.

  • dredg is above all, thats it

  • damn comment box

  • I think that all of you are morons who don't like this. Most people can't recognize real talent these days. I'm sure if Britney was up there shaking her tits you'd love it.

  • I liked this... sounds kool............... BUT I also wouldn't mind seeing Miss Spears 'shaking her tits' either lol

  • this is an unbelievably dry performance of one of the best songs in pariah. must be the sound, or gavin's slightly off singing.

  • I think it was because, at the time, it was still very new, even for the band. I bet latley they nail this live

  • ive seen them play 4 times now and i totally agree. they continue to get better as they preform the songs more.

  • i completely agree the singing is a lil off but yah gotta remember that live shows arent gonna sound like a recording... unless ur ashley simpson

  • rofl

  • i TOTTALLY 4got what i said hahahaha,remind me cause i cant find it

  • something about live performances not sounding the same as recordings, except for when you're ashley simpson.

  • he changes the lyrics so much

  • yeah this song blows, sounds nothing like dredg. el cielo where its at

  • Awesome band :D

  • Music doens't have to be technical to be unique or good.

  • very underrated band, dont get enough respect. great vocals and harmonies

  • They can do better for the music.. This is not really complicated, i'm disapointed.. drum is easy, he can do btter, listen, el cielo.. :o

  • Yes, they have done better, just listen the version from the CD :)

  • This drummer is very good, just listen to the album

  • I know that he is good, but their, i don't like what he's doing..

  • I heard their new album already leaked

  • Quite a while ago actually.

  • Where can i get it? : /

  • the dredg store, it's $9.99 for 18 tracks of awesome. enjoy!

  • Comment removed

  • Definitely a vocalist that can truly deliver live

  • This song just ENCOMPASSES you live.

Lookin' for a saviour- ah- ah ah ahur

  • are u kidding me, his voice is very good

  • El Cielo was a good CD, but so is Catch Without Arms. I will say this though, and I'm sure I will piss people off. El Cielo really fizzles out on the last couple of tracks. Just my opinion. I love them both. I can't wait to hear this new CD.

  • El Cielo was an opus! There was a bonus album they didn't officially release but it's called "El Cielo Blueprints". They just chose the better mix of songs.

  • Have you heard the new single yet on their myspace? Not really enjoying it personally.

  • Yeah, I heard it. It's ok, but I'll give it time to grow. I'm diggin' that "Information" track though.

  • Lets not forget Leitmotif, such a chill and solid album..the raw'ness of it is so awesome. I grew up on these guys in NorCal, good good shit.

  • You are SO wrong about El Cielo! In my opinion (and this might piss YOU off) but El Cielo is a lot more fluent than Leitmotif was. It flows like a Mars Volta record with a dream-like consistency. Leitmotif was too choppy though still a great album. As for CWA, well...I'm sorry but I just can't bring myself to even 'like' that record.

  • Really? The last three tracks on el cielo are my favorite moments of dredg. Very emotional. I didn't like Catch Without Arms. It was okay but vastly inferior to the 2 well crafted previous albums. CWA all sounded the same; and, overused the singer. It needed some of those trademark beautiful musical interludes to craft it into a much stronger album. Oh well...

I'm not really feeling nay of these new songs either. I hope the album versions are better.

  • Yeah, I dunno, I love that CD, I just didn't dig the last 2 tracks. I did like Catch Without Arms though. I love both those albums. As for Leitmotif, I'm not a big fan. It reminds me of a better version of Incubus. I'm not into it much. The new album, I actually have. I'm early into listening to it. Dredg has tried to go back to their roots so to speak, and I don't know what I think yet. It reminds me of El Cielo, but not as good. You should let me know what you think when it drops.

  • Comment removed

  • incubus are nothing like dredg.....and they are shit

  • wow... ok....

  • By Catch With No Arms... you mean Catch Without Arms? lol wow

  • I've seen this song twice in person now, it doesn't let down as bad as you guys are thinking. I can understand the sentiment of preferring old Dredg, Leitmotif is my favorite album, but they still have that same style and creative edge. Plus the rest of the album is supposed to be more of a throw back. My copy will be reserved and waiting, that is for sure.

  • the studio version is a lot better in my opinion. made me appreciate it more.

  • I actually think, even though they are both totally different, that catch without arms was better than el cielo. Leitmotif is as murda too!

  • The first time I heard this song was through this video, and was on the fence about it. After seeing them play it in a small venue last night, I'm for it. This video from Coachella doesn't do the song justice...can't wait for P,P,D to come out in June!

  • They need to evolve as a band. It still sounds good. Good show in Chicago Last night!

  • Wonderful effort tonight guys. Worth every half penny, and then some. :-D

  • People need to get the Hell over El Cielo... that album is not so special, and all the hype that surrounds it is unjustified and beginning to make me dislike it somewhat.

  • No, the album is practically flawless. However, people need to stop expecting for them to recreate it.

  • el cielo is sweet, but i agree with the thought that dredg is getting better.

  • So is this gonna be on the new album? Does anyone know a track listing?

  • no this is the only song that is out right now...im sure it will leak soon

  • Wikipedia has a little more info, it has about 5 song names or so.

  • Go to their website at dredgonline . com, the whole album's listed there :) and a download of this song's there (the actual final cd version of this song). Whole bunch of cool dredg stuff there.

  • They lost it...

  • So because you don't like one song, they lost it? I heard them play this live 2 days ago, it was actually awesome. Sounded better then it does here.

  • Your right that was a little much. I should just say the song sounds too mainstream.. "I don't know" is pretty good though.

  • Can you please define mainstream in a manner that does not make you sound like an elitist hipster?

  • damn that bassline sounds alot like a pink floyd bassline at 2:55

  • so the bassist is playing bass on a keyboard? nice, i like this song alot

    guitarist always amazes me

  • kind of.

the bassline of the song's coming from a synth.

  • Yeah it's a moog. Do a search for "Leaflet 2," shows them messing with it.

  • is it just me or is gavin starting to tread closely to the fat, bearded later years of jim morrison?

  • what, again?

  • shhh. The alcohol fuels the creativity!

  • hahahah he totally is

  • It is a bass-like effect...you can get that on a bass it's just a really expressive synth-wha effect.

  • i love that effect :D xD

  • Awesome! I love it...

  • As much as I love dredg (which I do) I don't like the pop y ness like this. That's why I like el cielo more that catch without arms even though CWA is amazing

  • check out some of their other songs from WAYYYY back. (5+ years if im not mistaken) Stone by stone, halong bay are two great tracks.

  • ya will do. Dredg is an amazing band I'm just convinced they can do better than this.

  • They always do, most of the time what you hea in between albums is not what is on them. When orph was released it was very heavy, even by today's standards, leitmotif was the polar opposite. I dont think it will be an indicator of what to come.

  • oh yeah definitely. I'm sure their next album will be just as amazing as their last ones.

  • the more i listen to this, the more i love it

  • It seems to me like every Dredg song is like that...By The Way, Amazing Band!

  • This song would be amazing if it wasn't for the bass line and effect. Hope they change that for the album.

  • its pretty clear that thats the first part that was written... too bad you couldnt have produced their album, eh?

  • That's a keyboard. That's definitely not a bass effect.

  • Well, catch without arms was poppy as well. i don't see why this is any poppier^^

I think it's okay but it's just one tune... i don't think anyone can say if the rest of the album will sound like this. I'm hoping there will be aspects of both el cielo and catch without arms (and maybe leitmotif sans the old vocal style).

  • yeah, i agree: just opinions. and i agree on the fact that a new El Cielo would be poor original and justified. dredg fuckin' rocks anyway!

    greetings from italy!

  • great tune, dredg rocks!

  • i don't think so , but...who care? it's just MY opinion. we'll see who had reason between us.. :P see ya!

  • ..or choose the commercial (more comfortable) way. I don't give blames to Dredg. I'm just sayn: where are the pure passion and power of the old dredg?

...and really, i don't see the evolution you're talkin about, dude. ;)

  • Exactly.. I find it funny that a lot of their stuff on Catch Without Arms was about not conforming and becoming poppy, but they did....

  • what a pity.

great band that started with a great album.

  • this song is about finding a man who shot his friend in the head and retaliating. i wouldn't call that poppy.

  • I'm referring to the genre of music that they're playing.

The subject matter of the vocals has nothing to do with pop appeal. I started listening to dredg before el cielo even came out, so I've been a fan for a long time, but this is sad to me.

It's like 311, Don't Tread On Me was horribly poppy and mainstream... I LOVE 311, but I hated that album..

Put it this way, I still listen to el cielo, but catch without arms never finds it's way into my cd player.

  • Don't Tread On Me was trash. I bought it, thinking it would be cool, listened to it once, and I haven't listened to it since. and yea, 311 is awesome. but not that 311. But I like this, i'm anxious for Dredg's new album. it's gonna be fuckin sweet. I saw them in Philly with Judgement Day as an opener in November, and it was fuckin awesome.

  • Catch without arms is a great CD. As for 311, interesting, I used to LOVE them, they just keep putting out terrible CD after CD imo. I wish they would get back to the basics.

  • i don't like...nice song, but nothing special. damn, i wanna back the el cielo's dredg... ç___ç

  • no! que les paso

    eran mejor antes

ahora no son ni la sombra de antes

  • That shit fucking rocked!

  • it's not a bass , but a keyboard ;D

  • "were gunna play a new song, so if you don't recognize it...it's newer" haha, good song

  • man i LOVE the bass player.

  • Awesome song! I love it!
