they get better with every live show and every album. obviously not as raw as first album but really an amazing band. the talent here is immense. i love them and will see them whenever i can.
@DURPINE yea i thought that too first few listens. this band isnt one you can casually listen to. you have to put forth effort and the more you hear it the more it grows on you. for instance the song the tent on that new album is fuckin awesome. lyrically most of the songs are great. musically its very different and takes some getting use to.
Check out our A CULT LIKE VULTURE youtube channel. We are a band influenced by KoRn and are just starting off. Not as heavy as KoRn, but very dark. We have two videos right now, so check them out and let us know what you think.
I really don't get why people expect the crowd to go crazy. Personally, I would hate if they did that. I more want to watch the show and listen to the music more than hear people screaming and have to look over them to see the stage...
DANG, DANG, DANG!!! Why do they always have to get chunky!!! I realize I'm having a pitiful moment of pettiness for which I apologize, but the man is simply too perfect to hide under 30 extra pounds and 12 layers of clothing! :-( Ok, the petty moment passed, these guys are a breath of fresh air!!!!
You know, I don't really know where he even got those interviews, they aren't really branded as anything, unless he actually did them himself, then I guess he ripped from a source, you might shoot him a message and ask where they came from. Good luck!
haha, i sort of feel you, but i dont know how many people feel like dancing or moving around when it's 110 degrees and you're about 6 bowls deep. great show though, wish you coulda been there.
this song is awesome the way its played, the problem with todays music is every band sounds like every ordinary dull band and all you hear is the guitar and nothing else, this song brings out the Bass and the sthyns which were popular in the post punk era and the seventies, Drege is original, and I love this song the way its performed, its got funk and style unlike all the dull dorky shit today! More bands should sound like this instead of all the untalented musicians getting paid today!
I think that all of you are morons who don't like this. Most people can't recognize real talent these days. I'm sure if Britney was up there shaking her tits you'd love it.

gay, i only looked at this video to see how gay dredge is.. the band is talented. just need a new singer cuz this one sounds like christina agulara and lionelle richie in a blender with T Pain
El Cielo was a good CD, but so is Catch Without Arms. I will say this though, and I'm sure I will piss people off. El Cielo really fizzles out on the last couple of tracks. Just my opinion. I love them both. I can't wait to hear this new CD.
El Cielo was an opus! There was a bonus album they didn't officially release but it's called "El Cielo Blueprints". They just chose the better mix of songs.
You are SO wrong about El Cielo! In my opinion (and this might piss YOU off) but El Cielo is a lot more fluent than Leitmotif was. It flows like a Mars Volta record with a dream-like consistency. Leitmotif was too choppy though still a great album. As for CWA, well...I'm sorry but I just can't bring myself to even 'like' that record.
Really? The last three tracks on el cielo are my favorite moments of dredg. Very emotional. I didn't like Catch Without Arms. It was okay but vastly inferior to the 2 well crafted previous albums. CWA all sounded the same; and, overused the singer. It needed some of those trademark beautiful musical interludes to craft it into a much stronger album. Oh well...
I'm not really feeling nay of these new songs either. I hope the album versions are better.
Yeah, I dunno, I love that CD, I just didn't dig the last 2 tracks. I did like Catch Without Arms though. I love both those albums. As for Leitmotif, I'm not a big fan. It reminds me of a better version of Incubus. I'm not into it much. The new album, I actually have. I'm early into listening to it. Dredg has tried to go back to their roots so to speak, and I don't know what I think yet. It reminds me of El Cielo, but not as good. You should let me know what you think when it drops.
I've seen this song twice in person now, it doesn't let down as bad as you guys are thinking. I can understand the sentiment of preferring old Dredg, Leitmotif is my favorite album, but they still have that same style and creative edge. Plus the rest of the album is supposed to be more of a throw back. My copy will be reserved and waiting, that is for sure.
The first time I heard this song was through this video, and was on the fence about it. After seeing them play it in a small venue last night, I'm for it. This video from Coachella doesn't do the song justice...can't wait for P,P,D to come out in June!
People need to get the Hell over El Cielo... that album is not so special, and all the hype that surrounds it is unjustified and beginning to make me dislike it somewhat.
Go to their website at dredgonline . com, the whole album's listed there :) and a download of this song's there (the actual final cd version of this song). Whole bunch of cool dredg stuff there.
As much as I love dredg (which I do) I don't like the pop y ness like this. That's why I like el cielo more that catch without arms even though CWA is amazing
They always do, most of the time what you hea in between albums is not what is on them. When orph was released it was very heavy, even by today's standards, leitmotif was the polar opposite. I dont think it will be an indicator of what to come.
Well, catch without arms was poppy as well. i don't see why this is any poppier^^
I think it's okay but it's just one tune... i don't think anyone can say if the rest of the album will sound like this. I'm hoping there will be aspects of both el cielo and catch without arms (and maybe leitmotif sans the old vocal style).

...and really, i don't see the evolution you're talkin about, dude. ;)
I'm referring to the genre of music that they're playing.
The subject matter of the vocals has nothing to do with pop appeal. I started listening to dredg before el cielo even came out, so I've been a fan for a long time, but this is sad to me.
It's like 311, Don't Tread On Me was horribly poppy and mainstream... I LOVE 311, but I hated that album..
Put it this way, I still listen to el cielo, but catch without arms never finds it's way into my cd player.
Don't Tread On Me was trash. I bought it, thinking it would be cool, listened to it once, and I haven't listened to it since. and yea, 311 is awesome. but not that 311. But I like this, i'm anxious for Dredg's new album. it's gonna be fuckin sweet. I saw them in Philly with Judgement Day as an opener in November, and it was fuckin awesome.
Catch without arms is a great CD. As for 311, interesting, I used to LOVE them, they just keep putting out terrible CD after CD imo. I wish they would get back to the basics.
