I have no idea why so many people go crazy for band when most of the things people talk about has nothing to do with music. They are jumping around like the RED BULL is all they drink. I like the singers voice, the drummer is ok, but Pete Wentz looks completely out of his league. throwing a bass isn't music it's just stupid.

They have always sounded rough live, but I've noticed that this performance, they're a lot better than say, their earlier live shows were definitely shitty, I love the band and it's nice to see how much their live shows improved over the course of their career.

OR they have people playing backstage for them.. look at the first pre chorus petes holding his bass in the air and the bass continues to change, yes he could be sliding into the notes but theres a pluck which tbh could be the bass drum but to me it seems like hes not live! I understand that not all of it was actually live. But think about it, most performances on award shows are not real. They are pre recorded. They cant risk having a single thing go wrong at all, its live television. they want their shows to look the best. Yes it wasn't all real but they gave it their all out there, and put on a good show.
@hillerm YOU watch closely. patrick is still playing the melody whilst his strap is removed. once the note rings out he puts his guitar facedown on the drum stage. once he puts it down, the strings hit the surface and the sound dies. pete throws his bass. USUALLY when stuff is thrown or broken, they tend to do what they are not intended to do, like make various noises like feedback and large humming noises. please watch again. i read what you wrote and tested what you did.
Guys, half of it wasn't even real. The vocals seem to be real, and the drums were real, but none of the bass or guitar parts were real. Those were pre-recorded.
Notice at the end that the guitars keep playing even after they have taken them off. Also notice thats its impossible to do those guitar parts while jumping around like an idiot.
Listen to their real live performances and youll notice a distinct difference in quality.
Watch as they ALL they their instruments off. Listen closely. After the remove their guitars, why are there still guitar sounds, and more importantly, why is one of the guitars still playing a melody?

PATRICK, the vocalist and lead guitarist, IS PLAYING THE ENDING PART as he is walking off stage. he takes the guitar strap off but he is still playing and you can see his hand move back as he bends the strings and the distortion from the strings as he sets it down. the drums are not playing after andy leaves. i have no idea what you're talking about. perhaps you're mistaking the applause for a fill...?

@tetsusixx Although I agree that pete wentz is a hack on bass, there are two more than likely explanations for this. 1: Perhaps, as on many tv shows, they are syncing to a pre-recorded, although live, recording of the song, or 2: I know from playing this song on bass that it's in drop D, and the note that is sustained is, in fact, the open E string tuned to D. Hope this clears some things up for everyone.
@XpumpkinheadXhearseX Your point 1 is just what I am talking about, him not playing the bass. As for point 2, it doesnt matter what tuning is he using. If you have played a bass guitar, you'll know that once your fretting is off the neck, the note will mute.

The vocalist and the drummer are good, but the guitarist and bassist are destroying the band. They try toliven up the crowd doing crazy things ,but they are horrible playing their musical instruments . They think it will only make a good show jumping and throwing their instruments.
The vocalist and drummer are being underutilized in this band.
But there are bands that play well and make powerful presentations, like Red Hot Chili Peppers
@oasislock Say what you want about Fall Out Boy but they put on a good show and still sound great. That is a very hard thing to do. These guys can pull off some amazing stuff that you will never be able to that is why they are famous and you're not.

Personally, I quite like their mad antics. I dunno why people keep pickin on Pete when Joe jumps around almost as much as he does. I love their stunts, they make me smile, although i have 2 agree with some people about throwing a FENDER! I wouldn't mind if it wasn;t a Fender, but I own one and think they deserve a little more respect than he shows it. yes, i am that sad.

He isnt punk or something at all. he's playing like shit with a pick playing around the neck like that isn't the best technique but ok. and iff ur trying to defend him, i dont care if u like him if he is ur hero thats fine, but in the opinion of a real bassist, no. he sux.

and i play bass also and i play with a pick, i play with a pick and pete plays with a pick and all the bass players that play with picks use them to get more of a raw scratchy sound because thats what were goin for, just cause its a bass doesnt mean you have to play with your fingers, and who are you to say if he is or isnt punk?

@jokerdv I see your point dude really, and i don't wanna make people angry. but he plays the bass with a pick around the neck, it's ok but the best technique with the pick (I also play with the pick) is in the midde or around the bridge, what he does is maybe good, but if he wants that oldskool punk-p bass sound you shouldn't play there cuz it makes the tone softer and rounder. He is not punk, he is sellout y'know. C'mon calling YOURSELF emo with miley cyrus, enough said in my opinion.

The bassist is lame.
The vocalist and the drummer are good, but the guitarist and bassist are destroying the band. They try toliven up the crowd doing crazy things ,but they are horrible playing their musical instruments . They think it will only make a good show jumping and throwing their instruments.
The vocalist and drummer are being underutilized in this band.
But there are bands that play well and make powerful presentations, like Red Hot Chili Peppers
