As the ONLY LCD with a true aspect ratio of 4:3, I was very tempted. I play most games in 1024x768, and older games in other lower 4:3 resolutions, especially emulators. Try those resolutions on any 5:4 monitor and a circle becomes a vertical oval. Some 5:4 monitors are listed as 4:3 but they won't be if the native resolution is 1280x1024. Only thing stopping me from buying this was the 16ms response time. I bought a HP Compaq LA1951g instead - good specs + it rotates but of course 1280x1024.
@IamLinksys This monitor is designed for graphics/colour correcting. It's supposed to be accurate and high quality rather than fast/contrasty for gaming. If you want a good gaming monitor get a cheap TN monitor
@marquesbrownlee My school has a bunch of the 17 inch models as well. But that is just for the ones that we bought in 2009, the 2008 ones where the cheapo E class monitors, now they buy the widescreen sx models. We recently replaced ALL the computers in the building (about 100-150 machines AT LEAST where dells and 30 where iMacs). My school spends craploads buying the nicest machines Dell has the students tear them up in 2 months. They came with Win 7, but tech installed XP.

This is not a good monitor for gamers. It's a S-IPS panel, has a slow reaction time than a cheaper TN lcd, but pinpoint color precision. The best monitors for gaming are old bigass CRT monitors. Do some research before you post any "reviews" It took me like 2 minutres to google it.
Skorpa06 Tried buying a CRT lately they're jus not available. and flatscreens have come a long way in the past few years, they've pretty much caught up with CRT's now...
i got the 24" HP monitor, both the 22" and 24" versions do taht too. People think im crazy, but its awesome lol. Especially when writing an essay or something.
Even if your watching a video, just put the video at the bottom and the essay/webpage above and u still get more vertical space for the webpage.
Even tried quake 3 liek that once :P hilarious, you never see anyone coming until they're right in front of you lol.
yes maybe it's a great pc, but dell have a big problem, now dell doesn't work with the QX9650, I want buy this computer but with the QX9650 and memory ram DDR3.

Dell will surely soon add new things to their systems... such as new mobo's and graphics cards... and processors like the QX9650 and the QX9770
