it wouldn't matter if there was a motor running it, magnets are going to cog. it's more a question if you can get more power from the output than the motor would produce alone. Or even it were more efficient than the motor turning the load alone. I see a magnet system as more of a "helper" to turn larger loads with less energy consumption. Not necessarily perpetual motion, but an efficiency increaser.

I would have to see this one in person, since the camera person is being so careful to only show certain portions. Whether it's a scam or not, the camera person makes it look like one. Also the acceleration seems to happen in steps, almost like someone is adjusting input voltage.

So long as you are careful not to put the words "this will never work" right in the text, you can get a patent on just about any nonsense. This is not a Perpetual Motion Machine because it does not utilize gravity, wind, water, sand or any other material that does not have potential energy stored in it to sustain the engine momentum. The Engine is simply a way to release this energy. Internal Combustion Engines also have starter motors to begine the Engine motion.

1) The force between any two magnetic poles is always along a line between the poles.
2) The force only depends on the current position not the history or future of the locations.
3) When there are more than 2 poles the forces add
Let's see: it appears that power is transferred by a belt to an array of permanent magnets. By moving the magnets back and forth, power is imparted to a drive shaft. It is certainly heavily built. Maybe the point of this is simply to reduce vibration to the drive shaft by having no physical contact with the driving force. But it seems a complicated and expensive way to achieve that. And because the drive shaft is part of the complete jig, it will still pick up vibration.

the electric motor powers the drum, what the engine proves is that the magnets are powerful enough to run 2 seperate cranks at either side possibly a third if one is mounted on top. This then allos 1 motor to sun 3 cranks without any friction or load. On the cranks I would further add a dc generator instead of the pully wheel, to a bank of deep cycle batteries which in turn powers the electric motor
The belt (on the side they don't show) is driving the center piece. For those of you wanting to know how much horsepower the "engine" puts out, you'll have to look on the electric motor driving it. Most of you arm chair engineers are mechanically declined anyhow. I think your just watching an experiment in the transmission of energy, like a transmission of a car.
I do not know what this machine was really built to do but at 3;10 on the video you can see the unmistakeable heat fins of what can only be an electric motor because generators do not have heat fins so this machine is using power not producing it. Anyone who could get power from magnets could sell the power then build more /bigger machines until they were the richest most powerful person on the planet and even use the power to mine other planets ect,ect.

You can see at the bottom of the machine through the gaps of the moving parts, there is an electric ac motor driving the main center shaft above it by pulley, I don't know what the purpose is of the other 2 shafts on the sides of the center one though. This is just pure observation, not criticism

It's beautiful in its simplicity. Could also have another 12 cylinders at 90 degrees from the existing ones and have a 24 cylinder engine providing more torque and power if needed.
you don't need magnets to do this - you could replace the magnets with round lumps and you would get the exact same outcome - an external energy source turns the drum, and the pistons move.
Perpetual motion is impossible? BS nothing is Impossible!! As for our development we have a long way to go, many things to invent. The technological advancements are endless. If you think about it we are still pretty primitive.

This isn't free energy, and there is no such thing as free energy. Energy is constant. They are just utilizing the work created by magnets and converting it into a usable source of power. Eventually the magnets lose their energy, but the amount of work required to build this machine and the creation of the magnets will only be proportional to the amount of work it can do.
Definitely this is the coolest perpetual motion machine I've seen on youtube! But it is a fraud... it's doesn't really work! I bet whoever designed it thought it had a chance though... then like so many others, hooked an electric motor up. Very nice work and fun to watch though. The claim however is accurate - it does make use of permanent magnet and magnetic action (to entertain us) - however that 'magnetic action' is unfortunately provided by an outside source. there is no magic.
i have no problem with that, just like bumblebees don´t have a problem with all the physicists that says according to the laws of physics it can´t fly. (i know that it is established that it uses the turbulences it creates to fly but that is exactly the point i speak of) Unfortunately a commercial marketing of such an invention would not lead to a better world. @MarkkOZZIE The theory behind this doesn't violate the laws of thermodynamics because the magnets are a consistent source of power. This is not perpetual motion it is simple a engine that uses magnetism as a source of fuel. I have built more simplified versions of permanent magnet engines and they work fine. The only problem is people the patents on magnetic engines so no one can make them and sell them.
And the patent owners arent doing anything with them because big oil is paying them not to.

Im no engineer or anything but perpetual motion said to be impossible isnt it? So how can a magnet power a piston which powers a magnet? I understand it may take time to slow with encouragement from an electric engine but im not sure. If in say a car coud you not also implement gravity whilst rolling down hills to build electricity supply. Maybe use a two way compressed air system to build and feedback power when needed eg rolling and climbing hills. It still cant be perpetual? interesting idea

the belt to the right is to have a initial rotation to gain rotational moment for the main cylinder with magnets ...so aftr it picks up speed..the electric motor is turnd off ,i believe and the magnets take over..tht;'s y they did not show how the entire thing begin in the first stage...maybe maintained as a secret...comments on this anybody

@prabhanjand Why exactly would you believe that the magnets take over? Obviously since no combination of motions of magnetic poles can ever create energy, the magnets can't be creating energy. If you think that the energy may be coming from the field of the magnets, I suggest you work out the energy content of the field of a strong magnet to see just how trivial it is. The energy from the fields would be exhausted very quickly.

@OrionHeights167 The thing in the video is powered by an electric motor hidden in the base. It does nothing useful. For machines like this one you need to know a little physics to prove that they can't work. The basic points are:
1) The force between any two magnetic poles is always along a line between the poles.
2) The force only depends on the current position not the history or future of the locations.
3) When there are more than 2 poles the forces add
Just from this you can do it.

Let's see: it appears that power is transferred by a belt to an array of permanent magnets. By moving the magnets back and forth, power is imparted to a drive shaft. It is certainly heavily built. Maybe the point of this is simply to reduce vibration to the drive shaft by having no physical contact with the driving force. But it seems a complicated and expensive way to achieve that. And because the drive shaft is part of the complete jig, it will still pick up vibration.

the electric motor powers the drum, what the engine proves is that the magnets are powerful enough to run 2 seperate cranks at either side possibly a third if one is mounted on top. This then allos 1 motor to sun 3 cranks without any friction or load. On the cranks I would further add a dc generator instead of the pully wheel, to a bank of deep cycle batteries which in turn powers the electric motor

The belt (on the side they don't show) is driving the center piece. For those of you wanting to know how much horsepower the "engine" puts out, you'll have to look on the electric motor driving it. Most of you arm chair engineers are mechanically declined anyhow. I think your just watching an experiment in the transmission of energy, like a transmission of a car.

I do not know what this machine was really built to do but at 3;10 on the video you can see the unmistakeable heat fins of what can only be an electric motor because generators do not have heat fins so this machine is using power not producing it. Anyone who could get power from magnets could sell the power then build more /bigger machines until they were the richest most powerful person on the planet and even use the power to mine other planets ect,ect.

You can see at the bottom of the machine through the gaps of the moving parts, there is an electric ac motor driving the main center shaft above it by pulley, I don't know what the purpose is of the other 2 shafts on the sides of the center one though. This is just pure observation, not criticism

you don't need magnets to do this - you could replace the magnets with round lumps and you would get the exact same outcome - an external energy source turns the drum, and the pistons move.

This isn't free energy, and there is no such thing as free energy. Energy is constant. They are just utilizing the work created by magnets and converting it into a usable source of power. Eventually the magnets lose their energy, but the amount of work required to build this machine and the creation of the magnets will only be proportional to the amount of work it can do.

Definitely this is the coolest perpetual motion machine I've seen on youtube! But it is a fraud... it's doesn't really work! I bet whoever designed it thought it had a chance though... then like so many others, hooked an electric motor up. Very nice work and fun to watch though. The claim however is accurate - it does make use of permanent magnet and magnetic action (to entertain us) - however that 'magnetic action' is unfortunately provided by an outside source. there is no magic.

btw. my version is a weak single rotator that could not even power a radio. I have some similiar ideas like that in this video but the parts would cost a few thousand dollars. perpetual motion is impossible, because it would violate the first or second, or both, first and second law of thermodynamics... simple as that. this example just shows how pistons can be moved using magnets. pretty sure the device isn't running itself. it must be hooked up to an electromotor - notice the belt on the right...?
Don't be so ideallistic, forget perpetual motion. It would be better to do more research on energy storage, batteries...

This is not perpetual motion it is simple a engine that uses magnetism as a source of fuel. I have built more simplified versions of permanent magnet engines and they work fine. The only problem is people the patents on magnetic engines so no one can make them and sell them.
And the patent owners arent doing anything with them because big oil is paying them not to.

Im no engineer or anything but perpetual motion said to be impossible isnt it? So how can a magnet power a piston which powers a magnet? I understand it may take time to slow with encouragement from an electric engine but im not sure. If in say a car coud you not also implement gravity whilst rolling down hills to build electricity supply. Maybe use a two way compressed air system to build and feedback power when needed eg rolling and climbing hills. It still cant be perpetual? interesting idea
