Titus you have missed the mark, my friend...It is truly amazing that a group of brothers & cousins could have started recording GREAT MUSIC in the 50's and have enough Talent, Class & Stamina to even last this long in the Music Industry. This song and the Isley Brothers were anthems to some of us that grew up in the Super 70's and WE appreciate all of the Classics and regardless of what they are putting out now...THIS SONG IS STILL THE SHIT and IT ALWAYS WILL BE!
@Celeste2054 Don't get me wrong. There have been a few artist that have put out some pretty good stuff since the late eighties. The "Machine" doesn't give them much airplay or the prestige that the ga-garbage producers do. Therefore, copy-cats produce the same crap over and over again. Keep fighting.
No mater WHAT the power is soooooo strong in this song GOD best These Brothers to the MaXXXX Power to GOD This shows HIS/ Power is fromGOD.These Brother hit is this song if you was there You Know what i mean!!!!
@TitusSviatoslav 100% correct, that about sums it up. kinda sad though: from(in no order) motown, isleys, philadelphia international , otis, minneapolis sound, 80s rap, temptations, ewf, pfunk, en vouge, teddy, marvin etc.....to lil (brain)wayne, kanye worst, lady gag gag, just-in beaver, rick(ricky tits) ross. almost brings ya to tears
@TitusSviatoslav I think you mean what you hear on the radio from 2000 to now is pure shit. hahahaha Granted, there is a lot of crap out there now. But, when you find online stations like BBC's 6 Music, you'll be introduced to some fine music: new and old. It's the regular radio stations that are the problem. They're not only corporate owned, they're run by people who just want to maximize profits, and don't know anything about, or give a damn about music. Cheers.
@TitusSviatoslav -- Good anology that I strongly agree with. Into the 80's, everything went synthesized and way over produced with machines. Not people.
Too Much Bullshit Goin Down is RIGHT !!! I was around when they were getting airtime and showing up in Boston at places like "The SugarShack" ..this is an awesome historical moment in music history
... I have all Isley Brothers 45's that I know of... I'm sure they have other songs out there somewhere... Betweeen them and the Commadores its a contest... Both groups are GREAT even today !!!! If only Willie, of the Commadores, would sign my hat !!!! FIGHT THE POWER !!!! All this BULLSHIT !!!!
my neighbor bought a bass, I had to listen to this baseline for about 4months when this album dropped. I thought I'd lose my mind but sure wish I could go back now! lol
@waveslider11 LOL!!! That's funny. My neighbor had this album, too. But, so did I. I never got tired of it. When I wasn't playing it, she was playing it. Either way - full effect.
ironic!!!! i was playing this song at my house party and someone called po po bout the noise. this is one of those songs when you hear it the first thing you do is reach for the volume control.
To truly appreciate this song and the Isley Brothers, you had to be around when this song was getting airplay on radio stations or being at a house party and dancing your ass off to it!!!!!!!!
@afton1955 agree bro, these kids these days dont know shit about standin up and fightin and bein free. they all worried about kissin ass and gettin a job, just another form of oppression and bullshit!!
Just as you were dissapointed that you couldn't get the censored version,I'm so glad that the *real deal* version was available on the LP.
By the way,*SOME* radio versions had the vocals sing "Bull-ISH" instead.
If ya *really* wanna have a radio edit version to call yer own, may I suggest putting out an ad in "GOLDMINE" magazine? Music dealers from all over the world will talk to ya when ya put an ad in their periodical.
@BadNews88 yeah I used to work at a radio station back in the day and on the promo version of the 45 had the censored version. The uncensored was only on the lp and commercial 45.
Used to love cruisin round Chi-town in the old man's "74 deuce an a quarter crankin this on the "stereo", listenin to WJPC, WVON, WBMX and WGCI.....especially loved the "Bull-BeeP" the radio stations had to add to the track to "delete" the "shit" part of "BullShit" when they played it on air..........didn't know that wasn't part of the song until I bought the album........actually was disappointed that the "Bull-BeeP" wasn't on the record........ah, the good old days.......
I get what you're saying. After hearing the album version of "Fire Water Burn" by the Bloodhound Gang, my friend was so disappointed by the lack of donkeys braying over the f-bombs, that he contemplated selling the cd the day he got it. He's not even squeamish about foul language at all, he just thought the donkeys made the song special.
