When in high school I'd ride across town on my bike to that cool music store, The Sound of Music in Sacramento round 1975. It was then I was exposed to Oscar, Bellson, Neils. Its changed my life and so grateful. Thank you Oscar. I Love You Man...

the World's a sadder place without OP. This was one of his most sensitive renditions...very Debussy-like. OP was a virtuoso pianist who really had no peers. RIP.

You can hear a quote from one of his own compositions at 4:11. It's "Land of the misty giants" from the album "Canadiana Suite".
