The NHL conspired? wow, you sound like a Nordiques fan. The Oilers were younger, better than the year before and hungrier. The Oilers could have won 5 straight if the Flames didn't knock em out in 86 and possibly 7 straight if Pocklington didn't sell and trade Gretz to LA.
Pierre Bouchard is a Fucking Asshole going after poor defenseless Bobby Clarke. I was very happy to see someone like Stan Jonathan set him straight. What if Bobby Clarke would have been injured? I can more than see why the Flyers came to Clarke's defense. Those Fucking Habs never change! If they can't beat you they use other methods in order to cheat knowing that the Flyers would be a strong candidate for the Stanley Cup in which they have won that year. How else do the Habs have 24 Cups?
@jocolope The Islanders have never got a sniff of the Stanley Cup since they last won it in 1983. They will never be the team that won their 4 straight Stanley Cups from 1980-83. And I was pulling for them to beat Edmonton in 1984, in which they have failed.
@Jiltedin2007, Edmonton became an offensive powerhouse. All teams paid the price when Gretz blew a gasket and the small package dynamite stick the Capt. wielded was a genius on how to revenge the loss in the 83 finals to the Islanders. You have to give the Calgary Flames credit for holding off the Oilers and knocking them out in 86 semis.
@jocolope It was that(What you just said) and the fact that the NHL conspired against the Islanders to win the Stanley Cup in 1984 to prevent them from tying Montreal's Record for winning the Most Consecutive Stanley Cups Won with 5.
Robinson, a pussy a hole??? Like Dave Schultz followed the code every time let alone half the Philly thug squad. Robinson was a class act and only fought when provoked by some idiot fool enough to do it. This may have been the payback for the Flyers gooning Henri Richard the year before or the brawl after.Im thinking it was a pre season brawl on the Richard pay back. Hard to remember as every team had one or two of these a season back then...
Ha ha. "The police WILL clear the ice of photographers." Great to know. This was the only way we could compete with Montreal back then. In 1976, they showed us that skill prevails. Then they demolished Boston twice and the Rangers. Those Habs teams were the best ever. In 1976-77 they lost ONCE on home ice. Not bad.
@tijack13 I'm not a Kings Fan, so I wouldn't know. I would be the first to tell you that the Kings suck! And besides, Los Angeles is a Basketball Town, and my team is the Lakers, who could beat the shit out of any Basketball Team that ever did come out of Montreal. But seeing that Montreal has lost a Baseball Team, I do not think that Basketball holds an interest in Montreal either.
Just because I live in Los Angeles dosen't mean that I have to love the Kings!
