Indian embassy staff are the worst pubic service workers I have ever come across, they do not answer the phones, deliberately delay you in the hope that you will give them a little extra money to speed things up, refuse to give their names to you when you wish to make a complaint, I just hope that I never need to use their services ever, try ringing London or Birmingham Indian high commission you will see what i mean, good luck in your search for an Indian gov worker that actually does their job

Why don't they just make Visa-on-Arrival systems for British and Indians visiting each other countries. Now, I know nobody likes immigrants but we can have some MONITORING system to those who misuse their visa privileges. Why should genuine tourists unnecessarily suffer these long queues? I want to travel to London, have a photo-op with the Queen and Prince Charles and watch cricket match at Lord's. I'd be mad to queue up this way.

I did not have to queue up..I sent my documents to a special travel agency and got my visa back in two days. It cost me as much as the train fare to london and back, so it was well worth it just not to wait around !
