Comical. But let me say something in defense of Electric smokers. I switched a couple years ago - I burn hardwood chunks, starting them with the electric element, and then let it do its thing. Yes I'm lazy - but it allows for an overnight brisket wthout staying up all night - and you cannot tell the difference in flavor -it's identical. I'm liking the electric smoker and would use it in a contest.
I truly hope no one has ever copied this cook or process in any possible way. I can't believe the number of views for this garbage. I am 100% positive that I could ask a vegan female (not trying to gender steriotype, but can you think of a better metaphor) how to properly smoke a brisket (or any meat) and get a better anser than this "instructuional" video.
I like my electric smoker a lot since it is very easy to control the heat and it uses real wood chunks so the taste is still great. You might want to put something under the smoker to protect your patio from getting stained by juices, etc.
ROFL So many problems here! You should have a rub on a minimum of one hour before cooking, and you dont need to mop brisket... its all about marinates and or rubs... And look at that lame ass smoker! You cant smoke anything with Electric or propane smokers! Expert my ass. His meat wasnt even seared on the end product
