  • Thankyou So So Much A Great Help I Thought It Would Take Years To Read Music I Did It In 15 Mins

  • Great job! Awesome presentation! You really made this video not only simplistic in learning about notes and beats, but how to look at them in a conceptual manner to remembering these notes. Thank you.

  • Thanks man :) really helped

  • Wow you are really good at this. I am an adult, never learned to read music or play an instrument and I thought this would be extremely difficult but you break it down in such a way that's easy to comprehend. I am attempting to learn guitar and this is a great start. Thank you so much :)

  • Utterly brilliant! Cheers mate! :))

  • @waltribeiro @youwilldiecuzkristof , I was joking, the a's sounded a bit like o's to me. But what do I know about American accents.. I'm Dutch! :). Nonetheless, great video's Walt! Too bad the focus is on guitar instead of piano. I "gave" up on guitar when I was young.

  • Your the best. I owe it all to you :)

  • i always wondered when looking at it how is that telling me what i have to hit on the drums but its all time etc thanks man

  • Are you Canodian? :P

Just kidding, this helped me a lot, thanks!

  • I am so clueless when it comes to reading music and so far I am able to follow this lesson. I am extremely grateful for this video posting. Thanks so much!

  • ... We waste millions of tax dollars on education, yet you provide it here for free... And I can actually comprehend what you are saying. For those who wasted many hours with professors that have taught but nothing, yet learn the simplistic basics here, I feel for you. Thank you sir, this will not be forgotten.

  • This really helped me, thankyou:)x

  • What's your favorite instrument you love playing?

  • @jmh218 piano

  • A free in depth, beginners guide to music theory! We have, "Learn How to Read Music," tutorials, as well! We have free video lessons! This site originally was being developed to help people considering becoming music majors prepare for music theory classes, but we decided to help people who were just starting to read music, as well. Our lessons are in a specific order, developed in a way that teaches you what you should know, in the best order to learn it in. Again, all of this for FREE!!!

  • @musicschoolprep thanks!

  • Thank you..that was very helpful..Been almost ten years since I played the piano..awesome review you got there.

  • did u go to music school?

  • @igvu92 yep!

  • @waltribeiro This was very helpful, but it didn't answer my probably very basic question. When someone hands you a piece of music you've never seen before, how do you know what the sound is of the note to start on?

  • @coldplayer31382 ear training. But if its something like piano, then it's pretty easy!

  • Another positive comment from me too. Cheers Walt, you're awesome.

  • Master Braxton, you've got to get this. In the long run, it will make you a lot greater than you already are. I'm self-taught, so it was hard for me to have to go back and learn academically what I was doing musically. It is t4edious, but necessary, sort of like medicine. krxn11

  • Hey Walt,

How do you read the chords represented in letters above the note? Is it always played from where the note is on the scale, then upward? And when I see a letter (chord) above a column of 2 or more notes, how is that supposed to be played?
