  • hello, i'm on a mission to make alkaline vegan raw cheese and i have a question.

do you have to use probiotic? my approach is a natural approach so i c probiotic as a non natural because if we eat how we ate 10,000 yrs ago then probiotic is not somthing we ate 10,000 yrs ago.

can the almond mix fermint without probiotic.

  • Wonderful, I now know how to make cheese.

  • 2:35 "that's because you're going to strain your nuts" ouch!

  • I'm not sure about the fermenting step. What is it? What is Probiotic?

    Doesn't sound good to me.

  • In fact I probably eat more vegetables than anyone here lol. I eat a variety of foods not just grass-fed animal products. Not everything is white or black. Humans seem like they are hard wired to believe you either have to be 100% this or 100% that which is nonsense. Veganism does not lead to ultimate and spiritual health. Yes vegetables are good, but don't make it sound like its a paradise of health cause it isn't. I have even tried fruitarianism and that didn't work for me either!

  • @adkpinecone

Please explain to me where I said this or that diet is better. I'm sure we can all find doctors/gurus that will support our way of thinking - so I find it silly that you would try to refer me.. We could go tit-for-tat which would be pointless. If I am guilty of trying to convince people to my beliefs you may want to re-read your own posts as well.

  • @adkpinecone I was not talking about any 1 diet - I was talking about dairy. I find it interesting that you say veganism doesn't work because YOU couldn't get it right. This sounds quite "black and white" as you put it. There are many successful vegans in the world. In fact the healthiest, most vibrant people I know happen to be vegans so they must be doing something right.

  • @adkpinecone

Why would somebody be addicted to teeth? You have lost me.

Obviously I wasn't insinuating that cheese is heroin - just that it has a similar (if not a lot milder) effect on the brain. I'm not sure why people think that if something has been done for a long time it is right. Do you think if you had never tasted cheese you would have cravings for it? Sounds like addiction to me. Believe me I know, I had a huge problem with cheese up until a few years ago.

  • That looks yummy!! I do like HOMEMADE vegan cheese, the store bought stuff is pretty nasty :-D

  • Raw grass-fed cheddar and jack cheese is the best! I get it homemade from the Amish! :D Nothing can replace real cheese. Maybe the fact that people are craving cheese is a sign that your body wants those fat soluble vitamins! All I know is that raw milk/cheese/cod liver oil really helped make my teeth stronger and kept me from having a root canal. I am not making this up either.

  • @adkpinecone

Maybe the fact that cheese triggers an opiate response in the brain is a sign that people are addicted to it. Can you say heroin?

Believe me I know, I had a huge problem with cheese up until a few years ago. Perhaps it is the minerals from your green smoothies that fixed your teeth.

  • @DaveJales It was from the minerals from the raw milk, cod liver oil, and raw butter that fixed my teeth. I am not addicted to teeth. I use to be a raw vegan eating only whole foods and I got 4 cavities from it. I was able to reverse them all by using the methods in Cure Tooth Decay by Rami Nagel. Intelligent people know that pasteurized cheese from the store is crap, but raw milk from jersey cows that eat grass is a awesome food. Listen to Ori Hofmekler interview on mercola bro!

  • @adkpinecone I am not addicted to "cheese!"

  • @DaveJales I am also not eating cheese just because it was consumed for thousands of years. I eat it because it is good for me and has helped my teeth. Wouldn't you eat something that helps you? It seems to me like you want people to do and believe just like you. That seems silly if you ask me. All I am saying is that cheese has been consumed for thousands of years and wasn't blamed for this and that like it is today. That is a fact! I don't even eat a lot of cheese. I drink raw milk more! :-)

  • I posted my video Bulgarian Feta Cheeze salad where I use my Raw Vegan Feta Cheeze. You can see how it looks like. It's hard and can crumble just like Feta! Truly delicious!

  • Kevin, thank you for sharing this recipe with us. One think to note, the E3 Live probiotic is grown on dairy so it's not technically vegan. But I have launched my own line of raw vegan products RAWbundant and my Fermented Feta and Cream Cheezes are my best sellers! I use organic Balinese cashews and dairy-free probiotic to give them authentic Bulgarian Feta Cheese taste. My technique is based on my Bulgarian grandmother Mirkah. I'd love to mail you some of my cheeze for you to sample. :-)

  • No never had vegan cheese, but am making this for my son! He will love this as he has milk allergies.

    Thanks!

  • I've had vegan cheese - the best is from Saf in London - herbed and with pink peppercorns. Amazing! I can't believe it tastes so good!!

  • I have had vegan cheese before from the store, it was ok. I still like my regular cheese. I just don't eat it all th time.

  • I live off of vegan cheese, no need to take probiotics after eating this

  • vegan cheese tastes like ass =-\ I'm not trying to troll but thats just how I feel. I have NEVER found a nondairy cheese that tasted good, homemade or storebought, cooked or uncooked.

  • who is the 1 person trolling pressing dislike??

  • I've had some vegan cheese and it was better than the regular one.

  • nice nice

  • I have made a sunflower cheese from Ani phyo's book and it was yummy but I will definitely try the one fermented kind, I'm sure it will taste more like the real stuff ( real as in "american diet" real) this is technically the real stuff. :)

  • I'm not clear on when she added the lemon juice and salt - sorry about that. Was it after it had been strained and fermented? Would it be difficult to do that, meaning, the cheese wouldn't be in a brick-like form after mixing it in a bowl?

  • @PurnaBhat She added it after straining after fermenting. Shouldn't be a big problem because this is a soft cheese, not a hard one. Hope that helps.

  • WHO WAS THAT GUEST SPEAKER? she is so well spoken, i want to just learn from here,, its great to hear the message so clearly without any gimmicks and "uhhhs, " and "ummmms " ... she have a youtube channel or videos or anything. someone tell me more.

  • "two capsules" of probiotic isn't very specific since probiotics can range from 2billion to 200billion units of bacteria per serving... that's a huge difference.

  • I've made an herbed almond cheese (Raw Radiant Health - Thanks Natasha) that was really well received by my non-vegan friends and family. I've also recently made a "cheddar" spread from cashews, red pepper and herbs and spices that my friends couldn't believe was made from nuts. There are so many great recipies out there. Thanks to all those involved for sharing this info and to places like You Tube for making that possible!

  • @1964parakeet oooh, where'd ya get the cheddar recipe? The same Raw Radiant Health book?

  • @krystilmist I found the recipe quoted from a few sources but the original is from "Rejuvenate Your Life" by Serene Allison. Check out goneraw.com/recipe/rich-cheddar-sauce.

  • @1964parakeet thanks!

  • I have made it about three times out of pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds but it wasn't really good, made a huge batch and had to be eaten in two days or it spoiled! I didn't add lemon juice and miso. What is the shelf life of this cheese? Also, I have been told that if you blend probiotics/kefir etc. that it kills the happy bacteria. That must not be true ay?

  • What kind of bag that was that she used?

Thank you for posting this one...great video!

  • @consuelo1962 "nut milk"it's the kind of strain bag used to make almond milk at home.

  • I've been looking for a good cheese recipe for a while now, thanks! I bet it would make a good yogurt too if you don't strain it.

  • Do you let it sit on the counter to ferment? or should I put it in the fridge?

  • i usually buy vegan gourmet or Daia but i'd love to try this one. Sounds awesome! you can definitely pimp out the flavor! Thanks a lot for sharing and showing how easy it is to make vegan cheese!!! <3

  • I strained my nuts the other day but I was lifting something a lot heavier than those strawberry baskets! What?

  • I've never had cheese made from nuts before. I would like to try making it, but I don't think I will. Almonds and all other nuts are so expensive I would hate to waste them if it doesn't work. I tried to make yogurt by blending coconut water, coconut meat, and probiotic powder. It did NOT work at all. I was afraid to eat it cause it turned pink. I will not try that one again! I wish Kevin and Annemarie could teach me how to uncook personally!

  • I am sooo glad you guys are still around and uploading new vids! So many people I like to watch and learn from have disappeared!! Hey.. On the homemade toothpaste you guys did a while ago...where would I find a recipe and ingredients? Thanks!

  • Ive been thinking about this since the Keefer & yogurt app. ... i use to make a cheese when i was a novice in monastery... tofu block raped in miso... put in warm place week or so and you got cheese... but it was soy n not raw...this is fantastic...everything youall show n teach... well I'm a sponge ...peace lov & CREAMY CHEESE ...tboi...

  • can you use any type of pro biotic for culturing?

I did have vegan cheese once i really didnt like it, but as im changing my diet im finding my taste buds changing too, i dont eat any dairy any more, so maybe next time i will like it, unfortunatly i have a little nut in tolerance at the moment which i really hope passes, as i would love to beable to eat nuts.ty
