I'm pretty sure what happened was that pozer got a counterhit - and you can't kill people on counterhits. I'm by no means an expert, but I think that sounds about right?
Uh isn't it obvious? The D hit Nu-13 just as the super comes out but once Nu's super gets so many frames in it continues even if she's interrupted. Jin's attack was just baaaarely not enough to kill Nu, while of course the super was enough to kill Jin. If Nu had just slightly less HP it would have been a victory for Jin.
Fuckery like what? The fact v-13 is overpowered? Every fighting game has its skank character, she just happens to be it in this game. I don't see how that means you can't take it seriously, but I don't know exactly what you mean by fuckery here.
wah wah wah, nowimlost, there are 2 other characters that are considered "god tier" along with v-13. get over yourself. either learn to play the matchup or play another game.
You misunderstood me, the guy I replied to said he couldn't take the game seriously because of "this fuckery" and I couldn't understand what he meant by that. Every game has top tiered characters, so why should the ones here mean he can't take the game seriously compared to any other fighting game? Essentially you said the same thing I did.
what fuckery is exactly going on here, retard? Jin's drive didn't do enough damage to kill Nu, Nu's distortion drive was enough to kill Jin. If you trade hits with a drive versus a distortion drive it would be more "fuckery" if the drive had won out.
its a double elimination tourney. Goryus probably lost somewhere down the road and got knocked to losers bracket and played in the all the losers until the losers finals. then won the losers final and went to the grand finals to play the winner of the winners bracket.
it made sense, the attack did the damage but not enough to kill her, and she widdled down his defense to critical, and his health to less than a third so she took damage but not enough to win, and she used a powerfull attackj that did critical damage. it was fair, just unfortunate.
It actually was enough to kill her. 5D takes off a good chunk of her life without damage, and with damage that should have been game. But the way the game works... well... let's just say I hope the patch fixes this.
Watch again, and watch closely. Remember, 5D was a meaty.
Also, my move would not have registered a hit if my attack was the last to hit seeing as how the opponent dealing damage could not hurt the other person once considered dead, so that makes no sense.
Regardless, it's kind of pointless debating this.
BlazBlue engine has a lot of errors in it, and there really is no denying that at all. But for me to not know something this silly, I should take the lose.
You are correct, this was explained to me shortly after I posted that comment and it makes sense. So it seems that the attack was quite simply not enough damage to kill her, yet you said it was.
Saying the game "lied" about damage is a pretty significant statement and it might be wise to back up with more than you have. It might also help people who want to meaty 5D versus sword super.
A meaty attack is an attack with many active frames which is used to threaten the space an opponent's hitbox will occupy the moment that they are vulnerable. Meaty attacks are used most often against opponents that are waking up, but really it dosn't matter what the opponent is doing as long as you attack early in anticipation of their invulnerability going away.
that's still ridiculous being able to tech -> super with a meaty 5D already directly over her. since when was mashing out super a reasonable way to win? SBO quality play obviously, top tier strats!
2) Jin was running full screen towards Nu (who already teched) and tried using this 20f move
Given these two facts, it's really really hard to believe that the 5D hit meaty.
3)This so-called "mashing out" a super was not random, as the player is well aware of the invulnerability frames. It is no different than reversal dp. But I doubt it would even need to be reversal since I doubt 5D hit meaty.
4) A reliable source has also informed me that V13 has a very dense lifebar at the end. You may be aware that damage dealt to an opponent may not always be accurately represented in the lifebar (i.e. dealing damage equal to 40% of your opponent's life total may manifest as half of his lifebar.
5) Even if you want to say the V13 player won by tactics not at SBO level, are you saying that pozerwolf, who couldn't defeat such tactics, deserves a spot in SBO BlazBlue?
hmm i see your point and what you're saying but that only proves that what he's doing anyone can do which is not a bad thing on the v-13 player's part or yours it's like a ryu player zoning with fireballs and anti-air with dragon punch every ryu player does something that other players do BUT it's how he plays with his v-13 no different from what you said in your comment

You can kill on counter hit, it happens all the time. Nu has invincibility on the first few frames of her sword drop is all.

But I still love BlazBlue, even though I suck at it =]

The Nu player got hit first. It's just that the drive still occurs after Nu gets hit and, even if we can't see it, Nu probably has about 1 hp left.
Sucks though. Would have liked to see a third round.

Actually, seeing the ending a bit more, V-13 DID take damage from that last move; it just traded hits, it seems.

So yeah,a little revision on that statement,it isnt the BlazBlue engine's problem.
Although a BlazBlue engine problem would be how Jin's 632146D only registers one hits in corners.
direwolfy 2 years ago
Okay,Pozerwolf is right, his 5D is enough to kill Nu in that burst state.
But Nu's Calamity Blade has invincibility frames, that was the reason why you lost.
It's just like Ragna's Inferno Divider,I also often try for Calamity Blade when I tech as a reversal to get opponent off my heels.

From what it looks like, the game said you died before she did, so the attack did damage but didn't kill her because you were dead.
I don't see what's wrong with that.
