Hey everybody. A member of the Chimes/Star-tels came to one of my DJ gigs recently (I, too am from Chicago). He says they're looking into a reunion, although one member is in Minnesota. I live very close to the 75th St. address as well. Now it's a church. Of course.
@heptyd who 8 track studio was on 746 E. 75th, Chicago, IL? I grew up in Chicago. I remember and owned a lot of the "Lamarr" recordings. I always wonder what studio was on 75th street. Thanks!
@invisaman75 I don't know if the Gardners actually had a studio at the 75th St. location. The address is where they ran a one-stop record distributorship and the labels Lamarr,Down To Earth and More Soul. I'm from Chicago too and it's mind blowing how many classics were made or conceptualized just blocks away from my house!!. Lock Records had an office 2 blocks from where I lived( 6724 S. Stony Island). I lived at 69th and Stony
please let us know about the reunion ....if and when...lets relive the memories...Chimes fan from Pilsen (Chicago).
