For folks in his circles (reformed, conservative, baptist), there is a tendency to sort of equate all charismatics with the prosperity gospel. Not that they're right, but that's where I see him coming from. Likewise I think charismatics can kinda broad-brush all baptists and calvinists as dry, dead, old-time church-ianity.
I only Washer would see that His (God's) burden is light and Yoke is easy. Stop putting conditions that on people. Stop judging so hard.
And the Gifts of the spirit. Not being vain possessions of the World is a type of Prosperity. The gifts were part the great commission in Mark 16:15-20. And Paul spoke much of and said to earnestly desire them.
Do confuse the gifts of Holy Spirit with the Prosperity Gospel. It was promised as far back in Joel 2 before Christ coming. For the last days.
Loving God with our all in does happen. But causes faith to grow in hearts. By reading the Bible and spending time with God we grow. The relationship grows. Not they we loved God but he loved us. All this constant reinforcing giving God or all and judge what is men's heart is wrong and over bearing. Just reading the bible there are no demands. But writing of men like Paul who loved God. Wanting understand power of death and resurrection.
What I don't agree about Mr Washer. It that it's to much control and assuming what people believe or think. Just reading that scripture. God offers a invitation. Mr Washer chokes it. Adds to it. Most come out fear of hell. They want to get right not wanting to god the hell. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. But Mr Washer ones must love God with their all and all. People are not like that. They are come understand and love God. But God loved us yet while we were still sinners.
I was just talking about wonder, premonition, reconfiguration and transcendence in film and how these motivating factors are borne through love as opposed to the usual motivation through fear. Gets dangerous here but through love in the Spirit of Christ, how can you go wrong?! agape' love X
@GIGiulia Actually upon reflection and some talking to by th Spirit I would say the former are not motivating factors but rather manifestations. I love the way the Spirit corrects us:)
Two candle pillars in front, and a pyramid on the wall = a masonic lodge. If this is a church, the pastor is most likely a freemason, or the decorator is...
Paul Washer, always ask the Pastors of the church you speak in, if their are known Masons. Just so you know. Then tell them their on their way to Hell if they don't repent of the Lodge worship of pagan deities. Love you true servant of the Gospel of Christ.
@FreeTheMasons Interesting observations! Even if it is a freemason type of church, I think Paul is doing a great justice by preaching them the truth. Very brave of him don't you say?
@NJR1210 It was bound to happen that he would find himself in one of their churches. The church of Christ is filled with tares that are parasitic hosts feeding off of the life of the resurrected church; and the Freemasons are infested in ALL of Christendom. Yes, I'm glad he's there preaching, I just hope he knows about them. I love PW very much, because he knows and preaches Lordship regeneration; and the duty of a Christian to walk in it. Lord keep him standing under the blood of his grace!
Paul washer doesn't do charismatics justice when he equates them with prosperty preachers. theyre not the same.
