Looks so tasty! I'm allergic to almonds so I can't use almond milk -- I guess I'd just use regular fat free milk? I also prefer to freeze my fruits so that the smoothie is extra cold and a little "smoothier". (Also, I'm glad you clarified that the oatmeal should be cooked first. I probably would've missed that step and been very weirded out by the outcome.)
@silence573 You just stepped on a hornets nest! lol Technically if you know about nutrient you don't NEED animal fat. You just have to make sure that you get enough of everything from your fruits veggies and things like nuts and beans. You can also take a supplement for anything that you might not get alot of (omega 3 for example).
And no I'm not either vegetarian or vegan but I was raised 7th day adventist.
I use hemp protein in my protein smoothies, and I like almond milk, but when I am feeling naughty I use coconut milk. I do the kale thing, too! EEEK!!! And I love Bob's hair! He is awesome! I was so happy he went vegan too!
I thought Bob was vegan.... what is your protein powder going to have in it? No soy I'm assuming, but maybe you're okay with soy. Your smoothie looked delish though!
@thesaltvixen I'll have to check them out them. I drink Almond Milk so always lookiing for more protein in the diet, I don't eat meat but do eat fish.
One can of tuna is something like 20grams of protein. I usually have two at a time and mix it with a couple of eggs and hot sauce for breakfast. It really helps me get through the day! However, I do have some more protein for lunch. :)
Im going to try this just because I have never put cooked oatmeal in my smoothie. I am going to use ice cubes instead of the water to make mine a little thicker. Looks yummy! Erica
usually it comes with a scoop. so you put in one scoop. Sometimes I put half a scoop though if I'm about to eat dinner in 30 minutes. But i feel like i have to get some protein/carbs in me fast (within 30 mins) after my strength training so my muscles repair quickly.
i'm still waiting for your natural protein powder, gorgeous
