  • @gloomypatrick and good work

  • easy song though depends if your a beginner

if you are dont mind my other comment below!

  • fail im 10 and that sorta sucks

try playing better so you dont have so many dislikes

  • dont want to sound like a dick but that guitar is definitly not 4 beginers ,you are better of starting with copy

  • you did fine.. screw the haters..

  • nice job, ignore all the nob heads.

  • you people are retarded he might have the feeling yet but hes playing it right

  • dont listen to the haters. u actually played the whole song correctly unlike most of the other videos! keeep it up!

  • look dude its obvious that youve played for more than a few moths and u dont suck just be honest with yourself at least ur finegering is almost perfect, and the chords are good, dont listen to other people i was in 4 years of playing when i mastered this song, u did good but dont say u just played a few months... just turn the gain down and put guitar not so close to the micro and ur be fine KEEP IT UP

  • hey all you people that SLAM people for their playing. maybe you are afraid to try and play your self, not everybody is a virtuoso so drop your co(ks and pick up a guitar and stop worrying about if somebody played a wrong note or whatever and LEARN. And hey arielrebel1 nice comment and by the way hendrix had poor eyesight and was a bad driver. Guitarist should stick together. True musicians rock on....PEACE...

  • dude this part u gonna use the bridge pickups ( knob on treble)

  • haha, you need your face closer to the fretboard?

  • Is that the real thing Gibson Les Paul? it loos nice anyway.

  • play dimebagg

  • use a pick to strum thats why people use them

  • @swedish89 lmao touche

  • @swedish89 how does one tell in this framing?

  • practice vibratos... jimmi uses alot

  • ima post a response either tonight or tomorrow of me playin it..look out for it

  • fake video

  • how can this be fake

  • keep it up = )

  • ouch.

  • yuck, toe fingers

  • that gutar is the most commonly owend guitar on youtube

  • @lee9512695 This and the Stratocaster

  • You can always tell if someone has taught themselves to play the guitar

  • @smackmybeachup

    how so?

  • @smackmybeachup hey asshole hendrix taught himself

  • @smackmybeachup Is that a good thing or...a bad thing ?...hehe

  • LOL, keep practice going.... I think you sort of have it.

  • you suck

  • u suck

  • you dont deserve that guitar

  • look at my newer vids, I had only played a few months when I recorded this

  • @selftaughtgtarist you still don't deserve that guitar!

joke, this hater might just refer to the way you use your fingers to play, I mean, the way you move them is not the proper way. keep training.

  • @tuvasaigner please read the comments, this is an old video, from after 1 1/2 - 2months of playing, I've now been playing over 3 years and am considerably better

  • @tuvasaigner Screw you man. He's a freakin' beginner in this vid. When someone starts out at something new, you don't tell them they suck, you encourage them to keep going.

  • The G and the A Barre chords should be major... not minor. Other than that pretty good

  • He's playing 5th's not minors. I was taught majors, but I think it sounds better with 5th's. Thumbs up!

  • good job but just sayin try bending the 8th fret on the g in the intro riff

  • Aren't the G and A supposed to b powerchords?

  • Well, it's controversial. Personally I think they're major chords

  • when u do bar or power chords its an F on 2 and 4th frets

  • it should be a barre chord i think on the 3rd fret and the second one on the 5th,G and an A

  • nice Vid

  • awesome vid man dont listen to peeps dis u,

i wish i could play like you

  • pretty good

  • Use your thumb on the base notes of the G and A chords.

  • on the verse after you play E7#9 your supposed to play G bar chord and slide to and an A bar chord besides that it was good

  • Timing needs improvement, but overall nice :). Next time you should have your'e own guitar sound higher and the song lower so it's easier to hear what you play.

  • practise more dude, you have to nail it. you seem like a begginner, loosen your fingers up.

  • Practise! Good Luck.

  • sorry dude thats pretty bad, mainly the timing

  • its not a fake retard hes playing with the music not trying to pass that off as his, good vid

  • you played that good but just try sliding to 9 from 8 its easier

  • you played that really well. take no notice of these critising wanna b"s i have been learning nearly 2 years now and your way way in front of me keep the good work up. and thanks for the video.

  • Give the kid a break! Not everyone can live at home till they are 30 and learn how to master the guitar. He's learning, and doing well. The other dude is correct. It doesn't matter what kind of guitar your playing. I'll smash this song on a fkn Squire! These motherfuckers are just happy that they know something. Don't hate... I wanna see their video. What stage are they rockin' tonight? We are all not as good as we would like to be. Just remember not to knuckle back. You can fuck your finger up.

  • i agree with (below). it looks like you learned how to play a guitar from a chord book or something. im not saying it to put you down, cause im sure i was like that when i started playing but you need to liten to music as apposed to reading it. still so so though!

  • Dude you suck!

You have to put some emotion into your playing!

  • this video was made only a month or two after i started learning the guitar, and im teaching myself, take a look at one of my newer videos. you can't show emotion when you barely know the song to begin with lol i was lucky i hit some right notes in there

  • Nice comeback, tell those ignorants off. They're just trying to alienate themselves by criticizing others when they're probably not that good themselves to compare others to.

  • so he played hendrix almost perfestly, not much of an achievement though.

  • y do ppl try and play jimi on a gibson instead of a strat

  • Not everyone can afford tons of guitars you prick.

  • if u can afford a less paul u can afford a fender

  • thats prob an epiphone version but yeah wtf u on bout nobody buys a guitar to sound like one guy...anyways nice solo

  • Why would you buy a guitar just to play Jimi?

  • guitar doesn't matter...it is your skills what does make a difference. Im playin on yamaha erg-121 . just a normal guitar and i like it. when u buy strat or gibson you are not becoming hendrix. Great player can play on evry guitar... even the cheapest one

  • hey man not bad whered you get the tab for the solo

  • be coo if u do the hendrix c shape chord instead of regular bar chords... gJ tho !

  • Keep up the great work!

  • good effort mate!

  • It's the Hendrix (e7 sharp or so) Chord then G and then A not G minor and A minor. You forgot the middlefinger. ,,!,, xD

  • this was a long time ago when I was first learning, give me a break sheesh :P, check out my newer vids, I think I've gotten better than this

  • well my speakers are broken so i can't listen, but i don't care so much about minor chords they are not so important.

  • where is your vibrato? i only hear hendrix's...

  • awesome dude

  • yo try sliding more, instead of setting up the third finger to the first. Sliding will make sound more like jimi.

  • can barely hear it man......

  • Use your thumb on the low E string....fuck barring it....you'll find it much easier..after all Jimi did it himself.

  • keep it up dude just play your bar chords with all of your fingers it sounds much better

  • pretty good dude keep it up

  • distortion? sounded like blues lol but still keep goin :)

  • that was awful.... no offense!

  • So yea as i was saying aside from the chord shapes being different you would sound alot more like jimmy if your vibrato was alot stronger at key points in the intro and solo... that will come with practice (vibrato is when you "shake" the string). Feel free to ask questions man im keen to help you out.

  • Now for some constructive criticism for the performer. Aside from the G and A chord shapes being a little different from what jimmy used..(Id like to add they are NOT! difficult to learn) Its basically an F chord shape usually played in open position, and instead of baring it you put your thumb over the top and press down on the first fret E string.. now after playing the E7maj9 (funny E chord on the 7th fret) you play that F shaped chord on the 3rd fret and slide it to the 5th.

  • Thum your question seems sarcastic.. So im sorry if you were asking the question in a literal sense. But Purple haze recorded version = E 440hz (standard) and on most occasions purple haze live = Eb (half a step down).

  • that's half a step down, right?

  • actually i didn't know it was supposed to be down a half step, ill keep that in mind for the next recording, (this is an old video, i have to re-record it)

  • Thum, do you really think you know what your talking about? Because you dont... The orginal RECORDING of purple haze is in E 440hz (standard) Although he did like to play live in Eb turning (half a step down). So your turning is fine either way! Very good attempt for 8months playing... keep it up man!

  • once again good job, but jimi uses a different chord pattern for the G and A. the thumb bends around to push down on the e string but that takes awhile to learn good job

  • yeah i know he holds it like a baseball bat grip, but im still learning, eventually ill get it the right way, thanks for the comment though

  • pretty nice for a self taught guitarist! a little tip, jimi plays on the bridge pick up so switch the pickup to treble. besides that great job. by the way? thats an epiphone right?

  • thank you, and yea it is an epi PS ive only been playing like 8 months too i use ultimate guitar for video lessons n text lessons n stuff to help me

  • cool, thats what i do pretty much too

  • you could barely hear you!
