I never watched the NBA when it was on CBS, but just going by this and a few other videos I've seen on YouTube, it looks better on CBS than on ABC. Of course, as we all know, NBC also had better NBA coverage than ABC.

It wasn't as good as the first theme CBS had back in the mid 70's, but it was tolerable, and did add some intrigue and anticipation for the game they were televising, more than I can say for the last 2 networks airing NBA games now, ABC & ESPN, that theme they're using is just nauseatingly bland and uninspiring garbage, has no essence whatsoever. Seems as if only Fox and CBS have any current sports theme songs today with any kind of gusto to them, at least where football is concerned.
