It's a game for Windows (open to buy on Steam for pretty cheap) and it develops a course based on any music file. There's a bunch of different modes, and in the mode I played you had to avoid grey blocks while collecting colored ones as you guessed.
A little trick: Watch the squares close in on the coloured blocks you've collected, then release the grey blocks if you won't make it in time to the next coloured block :D
Ya, I try to do that as much as possible, but I've got this twitch where I'll accidentally right click immediately after hitting a gray block haha. Or I just forget there's one on the board.

Yes. It auto-scans and generates tracks no matter what music you use.
