Let me tell you a story about hunting with a 30-06 me and my dad were hunting at 50 yards and we see a buck fucking a doe I shoot and it goes right over its back (our guns where sited in at 100) it goes and jumps right as my dad shoots im looking through my scope and my dad shot its leg off with a 150 grain ballistic tip 30-06 luckily I got a shot off as it ran and spined him before he got into the woods and suffered but that goes to show what that round can do.
yeah i ve hunted in roscommon,arenac county, ogemaw, mostly by arenac 2 miles before sterling, massive trails, but nothing coming in i think arenac is hunted out, trying my luck in ogewaw this year, hey bating ban is lifted hellyeah!
The 700 30/06 is one of the finest guns made today. I have used one for years and it is close to perfect. I have never had anything fail on my 700. What does the military use them for? I would not carry one in combat. No full auto.

Remington tested the supposed firearms that went off by themselves, in that CNBC report you got this information from, and they could not reproduce the supposed misfires under any circumstances.
Remington 700's don't go off by themselves under normal working conditions with proper gun maintenance, you can bank on it.
@digger024 Yea maybe you should do your homework. over 5 million 700s sold and 20,000 defective. I own a 2005 rem 700 in 30-06 never had a problem with it until a few weeks ago. Went to shoot a deer, i racked in a shell and it went off, then i racked in another shell and moved the saftey to safe and it goes off again. note my finger nowhere near the trigger, as it was puting the saftey on. THIS IS real and it could happen to 20,000 guns out there.
Yep, I live in Michigan and have made ethical decisions and allowed smaller bucks go on by only to have the guy on the next hill shoot him. Hunting is a little tougher than most folks realize. Those that score post but for everyone that scores there are literally thousands that go home empty handed. Nice deer!!!

I just looked it up in the dictionary and the first definition said the opposite. Chess, being a board game. Poker being a card game. Would guitar hero be a sport then? Tell me how Chess is a sport and guitar hero isn't.
Hunting doesn't take skill. The only skill is aiming and LUCK. Tracking really doesn't take that much skill compared to sports. Hunting is luck, it's not a sport, there is little skill involved. So have another beer, through that deer in your pick um up truck and go hunting.

Poker is a sport because, if you ever did play poker before, and are good, you know you don't play the cards you play the person meaning you need to study the person knowing their betting patterns when they check how they move there chips with certain hands the way they move or act with strong or weak hands. It is a sport.
Guitar hero doesn't take strategy or anything but the movement of 2 arms.
Tracking takes great amounts of skill if you hit an animal in a non-vital spot. Finding blood specks the side of a piece of sand can be difficult..
You know hunting isn't only staying in a stand. Have you ever heard of pheasant hunting? Quail hunting? It takes drives across fields, many times being in thick snow. But yeah I guess there's no movement in walking miles in thick snow.
You can't walk on trials to kick up grouse and pheasants. I've walked right up to a pheasants who haven't moved a muscle, they try to hide a lot of the time. I'm not saying I walk through snow every time just some times late season it gets thick. And even if it wasn't you still have to talk through thick brush, cattails.

Have you ever tried dragging a deer for miles, tell me what you feel like after dragging 150+ lbs of dead weight for even a mile. Dragging a deer really isn't too hard. Besides, 99% of hunters use something else to drag it out. Last year I drug a deer, around 180 (nice deer too) for about 350 yards, all up hill, then probley half a mile more. Now for the very very very few people that do this (WITHOUT ATV) once, maybe twice a year.. Is nothing compared to 3 hours of hockey training 6 days out of the week.
Aiming really doesn't take that much skill, get your scope on right and it's not that hard to shoot.
Why insult other hunters? I drag all my deer out and quartered a bear in the mountains this season and had to backpack it out to. Alot of hunters do it the hardway. Now heres an idea, go to peta and insult and argue with them. They should keep you bussy and then i think we would all be aprreciative of your actions.

No, sitting on your fatass holding a gun for around 2 hours then finaly moving your shoulder up for 8 seconds to shoot really is a sport. I mean, look at all the other sports! Baseball, hockey, football and basketball. You acctually get exersize.
Sure every once and a while you have to walk 60 yards to gut it. But what fucking exersize do you get? And I know some fatass redneck is gonna tell me you don't need exersize for it to be a sport. ok, then I guess watching tv is a fucking sport too.

It's the most strategic sport, takes the most patience, ability to shoot,the know-how of where to set up a stand, tracking, gutting,.
Watching T.V takes no skill, no patience, no skill, no know-how, no ability to do anything.
Hunting you do get exercise, in a way. You have to track a deer, drag it, gut it, skin it, butcher it. I suppose you wouldn't consider poker a sport either? Or chess? You don't need to exert your self to make it a sport.

I just looked it up in the dictionary and the first definition said the opposite. Chess, being a board game. Poker being a card game. Would guitar hero be a sport then? Tell me how Chess is a sport and guitar hero isn't.
Hunting doesn't take skill. The only skill is aiming and LUCK. Tracking really doesn't take that much skill compared to sports. Hunting is luck, it's not a sport, there is little skill involved. So have another beer, through that deer in your pick um up truck and go hunting.

Hunting is considered a sport by many people. Maybe chess and poker aren't sports but they are considered sports by people. Chess takes strategy, good placement of pieces. Poker is a sport because, if you ever did play poker before, and are good, you know you don't play the cards you play the person meaning you need to study the person knowing their betting patterns when they check how they move there chips with certain hands the way they move or act with strong or weak hands. It is a sport.

Guitar hero doesn't take strategy or anything but the movement of 2 arms.
Tracking takes great amounts of skill if you hit an animal in a non-vital spot. Finding blood specks the side of a piece of sand can be difficult..
You know hunting isn't only staying in a stand. Have you ever heard of pheasant hunting? Quail hunting? It takes drives across fields, many times being in thick snow. But yeah I guess there's no movement in walking miles in thick snow.

You can't walk on trials to kick up grouse and pheasants. I've walked right up to a pheasants who haven't moved a muscle, they try to hide a lot of the time. I'm not saying I walk through snow every time just some times late season it gets thick. And even if it wasn't you still have to talk through thick brush, cattails.
YOU just stop because you don't bird hunt. So how can you comment on it?

Dragging a deer really isn't too hard. Besides, 99% of hunters use something else to drag it out. Last year I drug a deer, around 180 (nice deer too) for about 350 yards, all up hill, then probley half a mile more. Now for the very very very few people that do this (WITHOUT ATV) once, maybe twice a year.. Is nothing compared to 3 hours of hockey training 6 days out of the week.
Aiming really doesn't take that much skill, get your scope on right and it's not that hard to shoot.

Why insult other hunters? I drag all my deer out and quartered a bear in the mountains this season and had to backpack it out to. Alot of hunters do it the hardway. @hatesquests Really?If it is so easy then how many have you killed?Hunting is very challenging.And by the way, many hunters like myself walk way out in the woods and stay out there from dawn till dusk.Why don't you sit outside for that long in the cold and see how long you last.Being able to shoot and control your nerves is a challenge.Tracking is not an easy task at all.Deer don't just run ten feet and stop and often there is not much blood. Luck is a minimal factor.Bottom line your a moron!

not all deer hunters just hunt. i play basketball, baseball, and some golf. @hatesquests I think someone is just jealous because they don't have any of the skills to bag a deer. You obviously have no idea about shooting, tracking, scouting, or anything related to hunting. It takes a great deal of patience and discipline. Even just picking a spot to hunt takes a great deal of knowledge and skill. You need to keep your mouth shut about things you know nothing about.
