  • @thelastmac09 You're very rude. Lol, I've already mastered every aspect of Max, that comment is a week old sir. Good day.

  • I just want to be able to automate the LFO on my synth and I don't care about Max n shit I'm not a programmer I'm a producer...

  • @DiegoDouglasIce so then dont get max. there are plenty of ways to automate your LFO...none of which require M4L, so get your head out of your ass.

  • rage quit.

  • ask pretty lights what he thinks about max.

  • geez i at and what your whole playlist ,thx man! Good stuff never boring!

  • thx,

i really wasnted to know what MAX was about

  • Love the video but brain fried!

  • Max for Live is a great tool for engineers and geeks but if you are here to make great music it' just going to waste your time. We already have everything needed to make top10 Beatport music or Billboard hits, sampling,VST's, sidechaining etc all at home...Like David Guetta once said in a interview "I was talking with Laidback Luke about Max and he was like , huum I dont really care, I am not here to create synth, all I want is to make good music "

  • @linkward A very intriguing comment. In some ways I agree. I'm a saxophone player. Does this mean I need to know how to build a saxophone to enjoy playing it or make great music? No! However, Max offers creative possibilities that are definitely not possible within Live itself that I believe empower us to make even more amazing music. What if no one ever bothered to invent a saxophone and said that violins and oboes were all we needed to make Billboard hits? We would have missed out big!

  • @linkward Maybe not everyone wants to make 'great music'.

  • @linkward I agree in some ways... but it doesn't mean we don't care about the process of making good music.. and I see that Laidback Luke is using Frutty Loop,.. maybe is that why he don't care about Max for Live.

  • @linkward That's stupid, somebody makes those VSTs and samples too.

  • @linkward your face is a billboard hit

don't come here and give speeches

maybe music isnt for you .and you should go into politics if you like arguing

    like napoleon dynamite

    "idiot gosh"

  • @zicha1 Go back playing with Led lights in your boring life

  • @linkward Maybe some people have the interest and the drive to dedicate to music and any number of other hobbies, including but not limited to building max synths/effects, ice sculpting and wind surfing.

  • Also, the picture in the video with the 4 screens is from one of the EMPAC studios at RPI, where Monolake did his perfomance. If you're ever around RPI, check out EMPAC!

  • I was at the Robert Henke Keynote and performance of "Monolake Live Surround" at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! Blew my mind! His presentations were on the future of electronic music "Live Performance in the Age of Super Computers" (check his website) and Max For Live. He showed us some of his work-in-progress plugins - so amazing and exciting stuff!

Also, he is a very friendly and genuine guy. Had the pleasure of talking with him after his show.

Last, great tutorial! Enjoyed watching it!

  • @mokuchley There are a lot of comparisons between Max and Bidule, but I have not used Bidule. It seems more audio specific, and does not integrate with Live the way that Max now does. It can be used standalone as well though, like Bidule. However, one thing about Max is that it can't really build a VST any more like it used to. They seem to now be tied to Ableton Live (which for me is OK).

  • Hey, crossovers in my sub box!
