For the people reading these comments I must add to be fair; that Ron Paul is adamently opposed to abortion. This is based on his own logical conclusion that life begins at conception. I agree that life begins immediately after conception but it is no more human than a skin cell for a considerable amount of time. Your premise is inherently flawed. People like Ron Paul because he DOESN'T want to be our leader. He wants to turn the reigns of freedom back to us. Like Bastiat, Ron is in congress "...solely for the purpose of persuading them [his fellow congressmen] to leave people alone."

Government fairness is a scale that wobbles between Anarchy and Totalitarianism. Right now the arrow is slanted to the "T." It's not a matter of keeping libertarians in office for ever it's a matter of balancing the government now... Then balance it again, and again--ad infinitum. When the balance is gone the system will crumble. Dr. Paul is a tire rotation and the little lead weights that will keep us from blowing a tire--not the ultimate solution.

Amending the constitution is a legal process that requires ratification of the states supported by representatives of the people. Passing laws that are unconstitutional and therefore illegal violate the fundamental structure of the country. I don't care who you've met: I care who you are and what you think. For the people reading these comments I must add to be fair; that Ron Paul is adamently opposed to abortion. This is based on his own logical conclusion that life begins at conception. I agree that life begins immediately after conception but it is no more human than a skin cell for a considerable amount of time. Many may argue for whatener reason but my point is, its not an issue that effects a large number of people when compared to the economy and foriegn relations.

Ron Paul stated that he does not accept evolution in his own personal belief system; however, he thinks it should be open for debate. Paul is all about the freedom of ideas. If his political philosophy remains consistent after being elected President (entertaining that the possibility exists)
he would not impose his personal beliefs on the citizens of the United States.
