  • Same thing just happend to me. One chicken is dead, one's face is maimed, and I dont know if she will live, and one has a little scrach.

I am going to hunt that racoon down, and kill it.

  • Awwww those poor chickens. :'( I had 7 pigeons, one got killed by a cat. :(

  • i had free free range chicken for years 99 percent of chickens die at night make sure their lock up a night in a secure house .........the most important thing about owning chickens is making sure their lock up in a secure house a night

  • Use a home made electric fence...it works. You'll never worry about raccoons again.

  • That's horrible. My chicken also got attacked by a raccoon, bit two of the chickens' heads off. Feathers everywhere.

  • RACOON HAS HUNGRY BUT HE I FULL RIIGHT NOW THATS COOL

  • I'd be waiting nearby late at night, with a loaded rifle or shotgun, daring that ratcoon to show up.

  • I'm very sorry that you lost your chickens to the raccoon. Yeah, you either need a fence with a ceiling, or you should invest in an animal trap for those raccoons. Hopefully, there are no more feathers all over the place from a nasty raccoon. *crosses fingers*

  • Wait out side with a magnum and a katana.....When u see that ratcoon.....BAM! and if it twitche's cut it's head off with the katana

  • need a 6 pack of your favorite adult beverage, a 22, a flashlight, and a lawnchair. Then you set up camp and wait for the coon to come back for dinner and feed him lead.

  • @alderaforall

    agreed...

  • Chicken wire, instead of chain link fencing needed......

  • Oh, I'm so sorry. :( Sadness.

  • Just this night i heard a chicken so i went down there, once i got there i saw a chicken headless next to the fence, And it tried pulling it through the fence, it was horrible to look at... and I was sad that it died and i felt like killing whatever killed all 11 chickens, We now have 12...

  • One of my girls got attacked and had an open gash like yours. I just brought her inside cleaned her wound twice a day with peroxide and neosporin, after the threat

of bleeding was over I'd give her diluted aspirin water. Now she's one of the friendliest hens! As for the raccoon.... Well I killed that SOB and it's entire family! Revenge was sweet!

  • I lost up to 10 chickens due to raccoons in one week

  • I wish mine new how to kill a raccoon I had 3 and two were eaten one night, we audited the cage the next night and my favorite one which was a Plymouth rock was lying next to the cage with her head ripped off

  • you should go ahead an have someone dispatch the chicken immediately. It's not going to live, it will die of infection.. NOT GOOD. You do not have to relocate the raccoon, it should be shot as soon as possible, Fix your coop .

  • get a haveheart trap it will capture the racoon alive so you can relocate or kill it but it should help your chickens live

  • Yeah, my chickens are hyper aggressive and as far as I know only one raccoon got in. He promptly got the fuck out of dodge when I opened the coop door (I heard noise) and there's bits of raccoon fur in everyone's beaks.

They don't like the cats, either. Just make your chickens into killing machines, they'll solve their own problems. :D

  • RIP

  • I hope your last two hens (including that poor brown one) are doing a lot better now.

To my credit, I've never lost a chicken to raccoons. My advice? Get a few large live-capture cage traps and set those near your chicken pen. Use cheap moist cat food for bait, like the Special Kitty brand. Arm that trap so the slightest bump will set it off.

An air rifle or a nearby pond can handle the rest. That raccoon may be alive when he's caught, but he doesn't have to be alive when you let him out.

  • In soviet Russia, chicken attack raccoon

  • you blame the raccoon? perhaps you should have built them a more secure coop and pen instead of just throwing together a bunch of junk from your yard.

  • @BlitzkriegStaffords Oh, great. A raccoon sympathizer. It's the chicken owner's fault that the raccoon attacked, huh?

Check back here after a raccoon kills YOUR chickens. We'll see if your tune changes then.

  • same thing happend to my chicken but he is ok

  • maybe if they wernt so god damm tasty this wouldnt happen

also i typed in coon eating chicken was looking for a different kinda vid

  • Maybe the raccoon gave the chicken's rabies?

did the coon eat the chicken or just leave it or dead?

coons killed my rabitts, so be careful. I Hate coons with a passion.....notice the capital H with Hate?

  • did it happen at night or during the day?

  • @nicholasbhicks nighttime :(

  • mmm lunch

  • Its these things that make me want to shoot the friggin coons even more!! I despise the people who think raccoons are "cute and cudly" !!!!

  • Unless I missed it, how did the little bastard get in? Your cage looked pretty secure..

  • how much did u have before it happened, i shot a racoon while it was eating my chicken her name was lisa she was the best pet i ever had

  • how much did u have before it happened

  • I FUCKING HATE RACCOONS!!!!!! One attacked my precious black chicken last night. It happened in seconds right after sundown and I am devastated.

  • A Crossbow is very effective against Raccoons (Doesn't disturb the neighbors like a firearm).

I've had to kill several of them every year.

I don't have livestock but I grow cherries.

A Raccoon killed my favorite pet cat 10 years ago too.

  • @m9078jk3 A Daisy Powerline air rifle's my weapon of choice. When I moved back to Canton, we had raccoons all over the place. So I did a cull before I bought my first chicks and built my chicken run; one sunset I just set out some moist cat food for bait, sat on the shadowed stoop across the yard and waited.

I shot six raccoons (including a mother with three pups) that first night alone. And I kept shooting them for about three weeks after that.

Raccoon visits are pretty unusual now.

  • This sis very sad! I am so sorry this happened. I, too, have made such a discovery when I tended chickens at a farm on which the chicken coop was a Victorian, stand alone building (built like a fortress, yet the danged raccoons still got in through the windows).

Lesson learned: chicken wire / chain link allows HUGE gaps. Rewire coop w/ tiny gauge wire (little squares). Also, you need a wire floor and make it extend beyond the coop at least one foot all around, to prevent animals digging under.

  • u should have killed that stupid racoon

  • you probably should Finish off that brown chicken, just to stop the suffering

  • That doesn't look like a secure coop. Go with hardware cloth and lots of screws next time. They are amazing intruders!

  • ha lmao, " Fucking Raccoon"

  • Poor things, hope their ok.

  • how did the racoon got inside the cage? I didn´t know racoons ate other animals, what else they kill?

  • hope this doesnt sound mean kill the fucker for killing ur babies thats wrong what the coon is doing no matter if its nature

  • You aught to get a chicken loving, racoon hating dog to protect your chickens.

  • i agree.

  • @nhjo Raccons can kill dogs

  • @zbratizme03 Some of them can, some of them can't. The dog's size, breed and orneriness matter too.

A dog's better than nothing. And it's not like raccoons are killing dogs everyday, you know. Usually, one or the other runs away.

All that said, I'd just go with some traps. They're cheaper, you don't have to feed them and raccoons can't kill them. But they can sure kill raccoons.

  • @BloodyBay True, true

  • I don't like raccoons - but they are wild animals. When people make it easy for them - a coon - fox - hawk or anything else just sees "easy meal". They are not making it personal against you. My grandfather has four dogs (really for burglars) and has never lost a chicken. Likewise a friend of the family has dogs...and he's lost them to hawks. Take proper precautions.

  • @Amidat "I don't like raccoons - but they are wild animals. When people make it easy for them - a coon - fox - hawk or anything else just sees "easy meal". They are not making it personal against you."

And I'm not making it personal against the ratcoons either. If they show up, they simply have to go.

"My brother, it's always business. Never personal."

    --Nino Brown, "New Jack City"

  • @threeby8887 - that was my point... ppl have to take precaution

  • hope u didnt eat them chickens lol it might gave them rabbies!

  • haha I know

  • @gizmoshadow1978 Birds can't get rabies.

  • only have 2 chickens left LOL.

  • they ate all mine exept 1 it suks so much

  • aw I know :'(

  • raccoons need to get fucked up. shoot on sight, lay out traps. do what you got to do. if you see one in the day, go out of your way to make sure they dont get out alive, i saw one the other night and threw a bottle at it. i am waiting for him to show up again and he is getting fucked up

  • how could u say that... they are living creatures too..they did what they thought was right...of coarse i feel bad for the chickens.. i love animals

  • I agree, unless the raccoon has rabies. :/

  • The chickens are probably part of these peoples livelyhood. I like animals too, but people are at the top of the animal chain and we have dominion to handle our bidness. the raccoons need to get dealt with and swiftly

  • I also agree, but there was nothing I could do. I'm not upset about it anymore (its almost been a year)

  • @SuperCandyapple24 Because man is the dominant species on the planet. Regardless of anything else we have imposed our will on the planet. If you want to allow the raccoons which are vicious and dangerous to take over then you do that on your own planet. I won't visit the planet of the raccoon overlords though.

  • if you kept them in a secure hen house at night and not in this lame pen at night they would be fine. How irresponsible!! Poor hens.

  • they were secure in this pen at night for over a year. They ran around the yard during the day..

  • yeah i know foxes too they will sometimes come to the coop at night and just look and try to et in we can see there tracks in the morning

  • i had my chickens attacked by raccoons and we lost 7 because we were away for 2 days and it came back the second daay and took more so we lost a total of 7:(

  • Raccoons are assholes I declare a raccoon genocide there will be no more raccoons in the US.

  • my newest video has a raccoon in it also, but its a nice one :)

  • YA DON"T NAME YOUR FOOD!!!!!!!

  • lol now that I look back at this vid, I sound really dramatic :)

  • ive lost like 5 chickens and 2 chicks! i fkn hate them

  • ughh that sucks

  • Did you ever manage to get the raccoon? If so, how? I've lost 3 chickens so far, and can't figure out where he's getting in.

  • na i didn't get the racoon. Look around the cage, a racoon can manage to slip through really small spaces..

    gah they suck

  • lol that happen to me i had 2 chicken left! but then last night the raccoon got the female and i don't dint know how it got it!

    Never Forget

    -Akavacado-

  • improve ur cages...

  • The cage was fine for three years, but the raccoon actually un-raveled the twisted wires that held the cage together in the back of the cage.

  • Rofl

  • "I only have two chickens left" I lol'd at that. But i'm sorry to hear about your loss.

  • omg last night three of them were eaten! i was like "WTF?!"
