I myself growing have been a diehard Elvis fan since. I was too young to catch the grunge movement. My favorite singers are Elvis Roy Obison Chris Issack howlin Wolf Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. All except maybe Wolf are baritones. i myself am one as well. No reason to get upset about Chris doing Eddies song. Chis and Eddie have verry similar voices. It's not like Chris songs too far off from what Eddie was doing.
For those who are upset about Chris covering Pearl Jam, this is just a cover during a concert. It's not like Chris is gonna release this as a single. No harm done to the original. Matter of fact, there is a great version on ShayneKaye1003 where you can here Chris dedicate this song to Eddie. Uhm, you know Chris and Eddie are really great friends, right? Eddie probably would take it as a compliment that his friend liked a song he wrote enough to cover it.
I enjoyed watching CC's respectful take on Better Man. Knowing the Eddie and Chris are friends makes it even more amazing. This song has always been a sentimental favorite. Thanks for the video!
@c5rang I'm sure in his day he could have sung a lower range Soundgarden song, like Zero Chance. No one can quite do it like Cornell, but it's possible. When Eddie really had his wail, he could have possibly pulled off Overfloater. Maybe not the right style. He actually hits a few impressively high notes on the chorus's of Dissident (especially the last one). You can also see him sing backup vocals on Outshined live (I think either Bremerton, or Seattle).
Not perfect, but all you ten clubbers are giving him to much of a hard time. Chris and eddie are good singers in their own way. Imagine if eddie tried to sing Beyond the wheel in his tone of voice.
Theachtungtree: i dont think he has to come up with something new to tour, i personally dont get tired of his music (including Scream) i could go see him play the same songs over an over again if i had the funds. He is a very smart guy, small tour , small venues, sold out shows, maybe not to attract new fans just to make the ones he has already very happy, and he did make us very happy with this songbook tour. I hope you got a chance to be there.
Saw Chris in Milwaukee and St. Paul and each show was different with different songs....this is so different from those. Best bet was to buy tickets to all the shows :)
@HurtFamily1 why is he touring as a solo act when he aint got no new album or new stuff?.....only that shitty half assed timbaland shit he did a long time ago
y si chris ahora q viene el 9 a argentina se queda para el show de pearl jam el 13 y cantan juntos este tema? y yo me prendo fuegoooooooooooooooooo

I'm almost disappointed when he plays a song that has no vocal range... it's like driving through a school zone in a ferrari

My favorite vocalist playing one of my all-time favorites of Eddie's--doesn't get much better than this. Dedicated to my asshole ex-husband.
