Great gameplay, probably the hardest on Xtreme mode.

Got pissed off when started playing, but the more I learned the more I loved the gameplay. That's the kind of game that gets better and better with more replays. Love Zero with the "solid" saber.

X5 was absolutely awful! This game was a step above it by not forcing you to read whatever stupid alert props the characters felt you needed to know in order to play a Mega Man game. "Don't jump on the spikes" No Shit!!! I want to like X6 more, but the whole zero virus kills any enjoyment. X1 through X4 were the best. The intro song for X6 was pretty sweet though.

It's called Mega Man X6, you might be able t find one for the PlayStation 2 (I don't know if it works on ps3, but definitely 1 and 2) at a video game store like game stop or something. If you can't find it there then ebay or amazon might be the only way.

@234Spotman My reasons for liking X6 go far deeper than just "music", "bosses" or "gameplay": it's the overall -feel- of the game that keeps bringing me back. Gate reminded me of Dr. Doppler from X3 and Hi-Max was just plain awesome. The fortress stages felt oddly mysterious. Sure, X6 was made behind Inafune's back, which was a rotten move from Capcom's part, but heck, if it weren't for them, the MMX series would've ended with that depressing ending from X5. And I HATED X5's ending.

I'm also glad the series didn't end with X5, not because of the somber ending, but because the game as a whole a bit too bland to be a proper send-off for the series.

I know a lot of people shit on this game because of the level designs and difficulty but that's what made me remember and love the game. It was hard but not tear-your-hair-out difficult. I actually find X1-3 harder to beat than X6.

X1 was sorta hard, but not really.

X2 was easy.

X3 was HARD.

All the X games I've played (X-X6) are awesome, but X6 is at the bottom of the list for its bad level design, stupid, unexplained plot twists, and that awful Nightmare system. But it's still fun to play, if you can get past that (like I mostly can). X6 DOES have the best soundtrack in the series, so I'll give it that.

@CornadaTV i think all the Megaman games are easy,some more than others. once you figure out the way around the bosses, maps,weapon selection order and armor order, although Megaman x6 was in my opinion harder than x3, the bosses are too easy but they are fun to toy around with. but x6 is only harder when you put it in extreme mode(my favorite) just the gate lab levels alone prove its harder than x3. especially when you try to beat the first level with zero and any other armor than shadow armor

Put Xtreme is asking to die more often for the nightmares. this game have a horrible level design, specially for Zero who dies everytime in the stages, but rape the bosses with his Z-Saber alone ( except Gate, most annoying boss ever )

This is a pretty awesome intro... though it ended a bit abruptly for my taste. Still, the entire soundtrack of the game is kick-ass and is, in my opinion, amongst the best in the series.

Contrary to what others say, I actually like X6... probably because of the music and the difficulty of the game... even though I will admit it gets bullshit hard.

What I loved was a key thing with all megaman games especially when it comes to bosses; anticipation. They always leave a narrow way for flawlessness. The Mega Man games shaped platformer aces, that's for sure.
