Ben Steins claim that science leads to killing people, is ridicules. How can you take someone like this seriously?
Science has dramatically improved the quality of life for all mankind.
Science can be destructive if in the wrong hands, for this reason we should educate the public, so we are not lead into a self-fulfilling Armageddon in the hopes of a second coming.

So I guess with that kind of rezoning, you think guns kill people to right. Well hate to disappoint you, but people using guns kill people. You get it yet, are do you care to make yourself sound even more uneducated. Im sorry if you lost a job that a monkey could do, to a machine. Guess you will have to evolve.
technology has ever been about freeing people from boring, monotonous, repetitive, dangers jobs. it is the current economic system, the monetary based economy, that made people lose jobs.
to see the scientific solution to most of our problems, see the venus project.

What I was meaning to say is that the benefits of science have done more then any gods ever has. I must have had a brain fart on the end of my last comment, for I don't even understand what I was saying. lol opps.
Bulletproof vests, medicine, water purifiers, canned food, refrigeration, pacemakers, surgery, parachutes etc. etc. are all made through scientific study and progress. What has religion done to save lives? Charity? That's only really useful if the charity gets were it's needed, and by doing that we use transportation, telecommunication, modern banking systems, satellite navigation in rural areas etc. Perhaps the will to help saves lives, but that's true for non-religious people helping, too.

More new jobs are created.
Maintenance, research into a more productive machine to replace that one,
and so on and so on..
