Is this, "We're too cool to care!" response from David why, awesome as these two projects are, they're getting their butts kicked by other projects that they should pwn? PHP dominates in so many areas despite being a mediocre language, but it's easy to learn, highly accessible and in every corner of the web. This does matter and is why most folks I know who're starting an open source project look to PHP...even if they hate it. It just seemed a very short-sighted and even snobbish response to me.
