I raced a 1990 240SX (sohc) with my 2000 4dr CIVIC DX (non-vtec 106hp) He had intake and cat back system, I had a intake, racing wires, and stock exhaust. We both had 17 inch rims. We raced 1/4 at the track, off the line i was always a cars length ahead and he would slowly pull on me, we both won a coupe races but i beat his best time down the 1/4 mile by a half second. His best time was 16.7xx and i ran 16.2xx. Its not anything fast both but we both ran more than 10 passes. GO FAMILY SEDAN!

i'm also using a 5spd, instead of the 6 spd, having some problems with it though, so i'm losing a lil power there. still have stock suspension, i have a walbro as well, did run outta money...had to start driving it bc my other car broke down, now i have car payments(had to get my fiance a new car), i plan on putting a bigger turbo and higher flow manifold, gettin the heads done(hks&crower), bigger intake, injectors, fuel rail, aem engine management system, upgrade the coil packs, etc. in feb.

And as per my last post, this generation civic was about fuel economy not power. They have a low Vtex engagement around 2300 i think, then the more aggressive profiling at around 5300 i think. Theres another switch over between there, but I dont consider this true Vtec like in my old 2000 SiR 2dr. B16's are the shiznit. Wow, People really don't know what they're talking about. 7th gen civics have a 3 stage Vtec system, Vtec-e. I can't remember at which rpm but there are three cam profiles. I've owned my 2003 Si coupe (canadas equivalent of the EX) since new and have done alot of work to it. And as far as this thread goes, the civic should have been obliterated, they arent that fast trust me lol.
well considering that race was in high rpm where the civic's VTEC should have been making it pull, but it didn't. The 240 power is in the lower rpm for drifting so if this 240 beat this civic the civic must have been really slow.
the civic had a d17 motor were vtec "kicks in" at 2700 rpm but it really isnt vtec instead if running on all 16 valves it only runs on 8 but when "vtec" kicks in it runs on all 16 it does change cam profiles so acually ur 240sx is REALLY slow

what up dude thats my civic. it does have vtec my clutch was slipping i told u that. its a 2005 civic ex 5speed with cai 4-1 header,megan test pipe, 5zigen fireball cat back and an obx 1'' spacer. thats what i had when i raced you know i fixed my clutch with exedy stage 2 clutch with a fedenza 7lb fly wheel and nos 55 shote bring it !!!!

And as per my last post, this generation civic was about fuel economy not power. They have a low Vtex engagement around 2300 i think, then the more aggressive profiling at around 5300 i think. Theres another switch over between there, but I dont consider this true Vtec like in my old 2000 SiR 2dr. B16's are the shiznit. Wow, People really don't know what they're talking about. 7th gen civics have a 3 stage Vtec system, Vtec-e. I can't remember at which rpm but there are three cam profiles. I've owned my 2003 Si coupe (canadas equivalent of the EX) since new and have done alot of work to it. And as far as this thread goes, the civic should have been obliterated, they arent that fast trust me lol.

well considering that race was in high rpm where the civic's VTEC should have been making it pull, but it didn't. The 240 power is in the lower rpm for drifting so if this 240 beat this civic the civic must have been really slow.

the civic had a d17 motor were vtec "kicks in" at 2700 rpm but it really isnt vtec instead if running on all 16 valves it only runs on 8 but when "vtec" kicks in it runs on all 16 it does change cam profiles so acually ur 240sx is REALLY slow
