I tried to learn this from your video about 2 years ago but couldn't figure out the chords you were playing. Many thanks for annotating it with the chords, have almost nailed it now. I was getting confused by the fingers that are "muting" the top strings before. The chord sequence has a nice jazzy feel to it.
That's fucking great playing mate, I love how you really bring out the nile rodgers feel of that song.I've noticed many people miss that subtle flavour and I think that's what johnny's essence is; subtlety.
There's a couple of bits, like the B chord at the end, where I play an "add 9" by putting my pinky on the E string (1st string). If you're really interested, I'll re-record a slower version. Cheers, dvh
That'd be cool mate, and from the angle I can't always see what chords you are playing, I love this song, my band might be covering it so I should learn it :D Cheers for this vid now anyway, I've got the intro sorted ^^
I just started trying to learn this song again using some tabs from the internet somewhere... I prefer the way you play it though... it seems to flow much nicer. So, yes I am really interested and it would be ace if you could re-record a slower version.
I just started trying to learn this song again using some tabs from the internet somewhere... I prefer the way you play it though... it seems to flow much nicer. Rather than trouble you to re-record it I'd probably benefit more if you could be so kind to tab out the different chords. I'd love to play this song properly.
Nice work! Tryin' to follow your lead but stuck in the middle, can never really tell whether the little finger is hanging or pressing on the lower strings. Shame youtube doesn't have a slow-play mode, some of the subtle parts are hard to pin down.
:0 amazing

I like the part where u show us the first few chords at a reasonable speed and then blast through the rest of the song and expect us to keep up -_-

Who needs tabs, you show us so clearly how it is done. Many thanks from a fan / friend in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

do you need to de tune the guitar for this song?
fibbledibble 3 years ago
No. I use standard tuning (E-A-D-G-B-E), though to play with the record I think you need to use a capo at the second fret.

vonhasselbach 3 years ago
this is a brilliant cover do you think you would be able to teach it?
fibbledibble 3 years ago
Yup you're right.
Well actually Marr would tune up to F# but it's the same thing lol.

Can you put the chords please, and if possible, play it slowly so I can understand because I'm a rookie in guitar playing. Thanks.

Hate to tell you. This is not a rookie song. Marr was a guitar god.
