  • From the UK, ('RM') & in the process or creating an interest lecture for a course. My subject from no choice of my own was the FFD (1st Field Dressing)....Good effort on this video. Perfect demo! Very helpful & very well explained, cheers. Please keep em' coming whatever the subject.

  • israeli innovation, i'm impressed.

  • thats a bloody sweet bandage!

  • Thanks for posting, Best how-to-vid for an israeli bandage i've seen. Love the the demonstration vids keep them coming.

  • Thank you

  • Excellent!

  • Im israeli and I learned this in summer camp. Awesome that your posting it to other people.

  • I thought those were designed for GSWs. Looks like a person would need a second gauze pad to plug up the exit wound if they wanted to use this for that purpose. Any tips or recommendations on handling GSWs?

Overall, the bandage looks to have several nice features built in to its design... impressive product.

  • @jokertim777 They have Entry/Exit designed bandages. One way you could do it is packing the entry and wrapping the exit. I have a few of the 4-inch Israeli bandages that I keep in my medic bag and my everyday carry bag. As for handling GSWs; look for exits (not always there or straight-through), cover and wrap. Packing and such needs a little more training.

  • @Marty32,

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. Exit wounds will be larger and messier than entry wounds. I imagine that most GSWs treated by EMTs these days are from pistols, and with "self defense" ammo, you wouldn't always get an exit wound.

I think a hit from a rifle using FMJ ammo would be far more likely (but perhaps not always) to produce an exit wound. Anyway, I guess I was thinking of them as "military" style bandages. Thanks for the tip.

  • @jokertim777 No problem, just keep in mind that for any severe bleed--you want pressure. Preferably gloved hands, and then pressure, but if nothing else a rag or even just your hands and then press as hard as you can on the wound.

  • CAN YOU DO MORE OF THESE TYPE VIDEOS?

  • What brand is that compass on your watch band?

  • good job. i'm looking for this dressing in canada.

  • Good stuff.

  • As always, thanks for posting! I have one of those and wondered how it looked like when opened. Thanks for saving me some $.

  • Are the green packed ones sealed inside as well?

  • Great vid thanks!!

  • i have been wanting to know how to use these for a while now, thanks to ITS they saved the day again :)

  • the packaging is just like an MRE 'double-bag'

  • How about some home made improvised bandages?

  • Great info, thanks for posting.

  • random question: where did you get the little compass on your g-shock??

  • Great vid! Informative! Thanks!

  • they arent that good against.......suicide bombers!!!!!!!

  • @XxKO3xX Wow it would take someone who is totally wicked to even think of that comment on a video such as this. I would hope in the event that a suicide bomber makes you one of his/her innocent victims that there are NO first aid products to assist especially the ones made in Israel and by Israeli's. That which you wish upon your brothers head will INDEED come upon your own and your families.
