i was at the premiere in Udine @ the Far East Film Festival......and i can truly tell that even if i'm a man, i was in tears at the end...beautiful movie really...and we spent some time chatting with Wee Li Lin, she's an adorable girl, very smart, and most important thing for me, very human as kindness....
This local movie seems promising to say the least.Well done to all the people who have put in so much effort into making such an interesting work of art.Certainly more refreshing than other local fare.
movie is between life and art, we can't say too much of them , what we can do is --- feel it ...you will know...different start point , just shows different angles you see between life and art ...life is what we can't foresight for next momen or day , art is always have their flexibility ...
this is great !!! everyone put in their effert !!! this is our own style !!! impossible is cos no one do it ,what if ppl did it , it is possible !!!! why not give a try ??? we should not always follow other countries!!! we should make our own style !!! If other countries can make their own style in same clothes , why not us ???
The flying kiss by the sweet lolita is a thumbs down. she shouldnt have done that. and the Shiro lolita shouldnt have done her both hands peace thing too.. It would have been better if she has holding a parasol and the pink one would hold a lolipop
I totally don't understand what's being said in the trailer. Doesn't exactly tell what the movie's about. and is the LAN-gaming boy the one with the sword? @__@ Exaggeration with the sword huh.
As I was reading the movie's website (goneshoppingthemovie dot com) synopsis, I think the movie is a satire on the three characters seen in the trailer, the tai tai, the gothic lolita and the LAN-gaming boy. Definitely people we see all the time in malls!
i don't think I'll get to see this movie since I won't be in Singapore.Reading the sypnosis didn't really allow me to know what's the story's gonna be like but i think it's kinda disappointing that the lolitas inside are portrayed like bimbos...and the materials of the dress made me shiver (@A@) I'm sorry...do enjoy the movie and hopefully someone tells me more stuffs.
We have to understand that the lolitas portrayed in the story are following a sub-culture. Sub-cultures here are never really close to the pure beliefs of their origins in other countries. A lot of youths pick up sub-cultures that are diluted. It's important to note that this movie is in the Singapore social context. There are those who stay true to the code of conduct but there are also those who follow the fad.
Lolitas are still human afterall, not dolls and WOW you must have amazing sharp eyes to be able to tell the material of the dress from youtube screens LOL
depressing. why would kym ng veer away from her forte? i was expecting a comedy of some sort. geez, i hope for her sake this movie doesn't flop. i love kym ng and theres no shortage of good things to say about her comedic hosting talents but this movie does not look promising. plus, that monologue... geez, pretentious much?
I think Kym is brave to accept a role that is totally different from her TV personality. Movie is about make-believe, why protray something that we are so used to?
Pretentious or not, I think this film has set a bench mark for Singapore Films and I can safely mention, way better than Jack Neo's films.
This is a horrible representation of Loli fashion in Singapore.

I LOVE THE MOVIE
touching and beautiful, it's not avery materalistic movie but a movie that shows the emptiness in a tai tai's heart
i love every single character in this movie
I LOVE IT!
