  • i can hit most of the notes he sings fairly well and i'm only 19. but i DO NOT have to power he has and i have to be slightly warmed up before i can hit F2 or down to C2

  • Ay no mames!!

    que chingón!!

  • umm........... Wow.

  • Very profound

  • blud, das sum sik bass ting

  • More musical than Pasiukov, IMO, although I wouldn't kick either out of the choir, so to speak.

  • i think Pasjukov has darkest voice in the basso world.

  • Pasiukov! And there are loads of vids of him around.

  • I wish I could get my voice down that one half-step so I could try my voice at this song. D:

  • Upload the other part of d video plz !!'

  • Это же Домский собор в Риге, не так ли?

  • Hi guys, look how far are microphones !!!!!! if at all there is)) you imagine what power he has to vote!

  • anyone know how much of it is talent/training/genes.

  • @frankvdg

It's all genes. And if you have that low voice you can practice. If you don't have it, you just don't.

  • goddamn russia

  • OMG the climax was cutted!!

    Great...

  • At 1:30 it's a "C".... wow... better than Connolly, deeper and stronger. Even if Connolly is superb!. AMAZING!

  • He makes it look effortless.

  • @hatstalker On the contrary, he looks like he's kinda straining. It doesn't sound that way; it sounds rich and dark. To me, anyway.

  • Wow,Im a 16 year old bass-baritone and can sing these notes perfectly like him.I didnt think my voice could go that low and loud without fry.My only problem was the G1.And the cool part is that I can still hit F#4/G4 in chest voice as well.

  • @crow66693 you are 16 year old dumb, thats all. I am 32 y.o. bass and I CAN NOT sing these notes. Go to the ...ss

  • @zagibonteese That doesnt mean shit dumbass. Its all about your voice type.Look at 30 yr old tenors and 30 yr old bass.Hell, even a 16 yr old tenor and 16 yr old bass. You sir,are a dumbass.Go study more music beofre you can talk to me.

  • @crow66693 Do you have special musical education? Of course, no - too young. When you are 16 years old, your voice may not finished puberty voice changing. )))

You are precipitate young man, but may be I'm wrong. If you so good - record your singing, just lowest notes; "Oooooh!" or "Aaaaaah!" will be quite enough - and post it here, on Youtube. It will be ridiculous video...))))

By the way, in 1993 I had finished seven-year musical school by the piano...

  • @crow66693 He can sing up there, too - he performs operatic bass roles as well, which generally center pretty high and require F4 at least.

  • @Taenyr The F4 has become an easy note for me.Its not the High A that troubles me haha.

  • @Taenyr Miller singing an F4? That's something I've got to hear.

  • @Jextxadore Haha, same here. I mean, I'm just surmising that he can do it based on the fact that he's sung opera roles for bass - and there is supposedly *one* opera role for bass that doesn't go above middle C (Creon in Stravinsky's "Oedipus Rex," or so I've been told).

  • @Taenyr A lot of arias don't go above E4, I find. I just don't think he'd be very comfortable sustaining such a high range for so long, as he's used to singing relatively low.

  • @Jextxadore Good point - it's probably why he doesn't seem to sing opera all that often. Still, it'd be great to hear him at it...

  • @Jextxadore I face the same problem. It's very difficult for me to hit the higher notes like Samuel Ramey can. My voice is more on par with Vladimir Miller's.

  • @rezlimey Is it a result of tongue tension? You should never feel like you have to force a note.

  • @Jextxadore I doubt it. The strain is really intense in my vocal cords when I try to go high for a bass. (Singing along to Johnny Cash was a surprising challenge b/c I thought he was a bass. He was actually a bass-baritone.) But, I may have to ask a close friend of mine who's a soprano and who was a voice major in college on what to do about this. She may tell me to be content as a BP.

  • @rezlimey Well, how high is high? I only feel strain at E4 and above. My lowest "real" note is F2.

  • @rezlimey Why would you NOT be content with being a basso profondo? Your voice can't get any manlier than that.

  • @EnchiladaMan360 Thanks. You made me laugh at myself.

  • Где же низкий уровень Bb?

  • he does it effortlessly

  • So much power . Truly amazing.

  • Ha makes it seem so effortless, a wondrous basso indeed

  • what a beautiful voice!!!

  • So what does Vladimir sound like when speaking? Is it ridiculously low and/or bassy, or would you not be able to tell he was a basso profundo? For example, Brian Stokes Mitchell has a very bassy baritone, but he sounds like any ol guy when speaking.

  • @SokJuice Us basses usually have a low speaking voice. Its not this low when we talk but it could be in some cases. In the morning,I sound like this.haha

  • awesome

    simply awesome

  • The music of the Orthodox Christian Church alone is enough to almost convince me to convert... you can almost literally transcend if you just close your eyes and let it sink in...

  • Well,I thought you need some church authority at least to wear those close.I doubt any man can simply dress like that...

  • @bega99 In the Orthodox Church, and for that matter the Byzantine-Rite Catholic Churches everyone who has the blessing of their priest can wear a Подрясник/Podrjasnyk (Russian Undercassock). I wear it myself too :)

In the Roman Rite-Catholic Church simply everyone who wishes to become a Cleric can wear a Cassock/Clerical shirt.

    - Христофор

  • @Kerumble

haha. Thanks for the laugh, I really do enjoy ironic humor.

  • A question for who know better:you need to be a priest to be a part of choirs like this?

  • Np, I doubt any of these men are priests.

  • Effortless! im jealous

  • i can hit that note!! :D and audibly too :p

    Basses RULE

  • What a incredible man!!! what a voice so deeeeeeeeep!!!

he's my hero and ray william johndon too haha... and vladimir pasuikov

  • Phenomenal. Thank you.

  • OMFG!!!1

    O_O

    TEN STARS!

  • Man, I'd love to see that guys larynx! It must be the size of a fist!

  • Yea.

  • @clarksc1988 I certainly has some punch! :)

  • @clarksc1988 you heard his speaking voice?he actually sounds quite normal.but he has an amazingly low range as you can hear and octave lower then low G.

  • @fuitbag i have to disagree with you. he has definately not a quite normal speaking voice. listen closely. of course he's not speaking as low as he is able to sing but nontheless you hear the resonance and the richness of his voice even when he speaks...

  • @Bomenpulp well not normal. yes theres the Great resonant quality to his voice. its larger then everybody elses voice in the room. That you hear speak anyway.

  • Soulful. Haunting. Beautiful music.

  • This is just incredible. Not only is he an Oktavist, but he's an Oktavist WITH VIBRATO. That's just amazing, and I have SERIOUS respect for this man, as a fellow Profundo (Nowhere NEAR as low, OR as good as him though... xD).

  • and this is only half of the song, in the next part he is going down to the double low G !!!

  • Heb je de link van het tweede deel van dit stuk, ik vind het niet.

    Bedankt

  • Ik ben voor twee maanden in Australia. Zodra ik terug ben in Canada zal ik je het tweede deel laten horen.

    Daaag

  • when you said jewish, were you refering at his facial features?

  • Yes, that's what I meant by "he looks Jewish". As far as his religious association, there's a comment below stating that he is indeed a Protodeacon in the Russian Orthodox church. I have no reason to doubt otherwise!

  • Can't be Jewish...if you look closely at him when he sings,at left you will see a cross...I think he is orthodox, like most of the russians

  • Lots of Jewish people in Russia are Russian Orthodox (or Atheist even). When someone is Jewish, it doesn't automatically mean they practice Judaism.

  • He looks Jewish. I wonder, do Jewish choirs/cantors use basso voices? I've been to their concert once, it was beautiful too. But I can't remember if there were any basso parts...

  • Catholic church ???

  • I wish, no he is Russian Orthodox, they believe almost everything that catholics do, except the pope in rome, they have their own patriarch

  • also, the priests (except for monks) are supposed to marry and have lots of children.

and status of Mary as theotokos (mother of God) is a bit different.

  • Yeah, it doesn't look like a typical russian orthodox kliros and altar'. Possibly, a concert recorded in a Catholic Cathedral somewhere? They often have awesome acoustics.

  • Recorded in Riga Cathedral (Рижский Домский собор).

  • It doesn't as it's a concert, not a religious sermon. But this song is a part of Russian orthodox sermon.

Mr. Miller and the choir have travelled round the world singing orthodox songs at concerts and in churches.

  • @ocha1 Russian church has good acoustics too :) But there around the world are different churches- one made from stones, other from wood but another from any kind of blocks and it means that in every church cause of its materials and constructions is a little another acoustics ;)

  • where's the rest?where's the rest?

  • Miller and Pasuikov are both incredible singers. Miller has a very clear and beautiful voice with sharp audible overtones. The voice of Pasuikov is pure majestic power, heavy and dark. Wonderful that such voices exists in this world.

  • it's probably the best basso profondo i've ever heard

  • it surely is.

  • @addidutzu yes he is the best :D

  • @addidutzu Vladimir Pasjukoc is better... my opinion

  • @RAAMerisima you made me curious, but it seems that not even google heard of him...:(

  • @addidutzu There is a video of Vladimir Pasjukov in the suggestions.

  • @joymanius This is not Vladimir Pasiukov, this is Vladimir Miller.

  • @Edward22050 True, but there is a video of Vladimir Pasjukov in the suggestions tab, I responded to a comment of someone wanting to know more about Vladimir Pasjukov.

  • @addidutzu Vladimir Pasjukov is better... my opinion

  • This Choir is my favorite and in my opinion the world BEST. Yes I agree about the above and prefer Pasuikov's profundity although I have the 3 + Krulov in my iPod ...

I also have some videos, you could wath ...

    Thanks

  • After watching the video of Yuri Wichniakov (look in videos by user for The Orthodox Singers Male Choir "It is fitting..."), I must say that I'm infinitely more impressed with Miller than Vichniakov. You usually hear Wichniakov with 3 other guys, so in the video he doesn't sound nearly as powerful.

  • Влад...

  • sorry for spaming but why didn't you uploaded whole video. I think its cut right in the midle

  • Ach, if i had the whole video, i'd upload it) But for the time being i only has this part((

  • Bummer, it ends right before he hits the low Bb. Thanks for the upload though, that's awesome.

  • @Aleksei5

That's ok Aleksei. Thanks for uploading! :)

  • @slavenBL right before the best part

  • @slavenBL to nie spiew to pierdzenie w stołek

  • thanks for uploading Vladimir Miller. Finaly live perfomance video. If you have more, please post :)

  • He often performs with the Glinka choir, test your luck and search their mutual performances

  • Yes! Finally a video with a closeup of his face!

  • Wow thank you so much for posting! Vladimir Miller has to be one of the best Basso Profondos ever!

  • Hes really good!
