Please tell me what Al Magrib is all about. Is it a Islamic learning school? Can I learn Online? Please give me some detail and how can I sign up Online. Thank you
yea I know him personally and I can assure you that the beat boxing is definitely his voice and its a trademark of his in most of his videos. He believes music is haram so he substitutes it with beat boxing
ehhh my mistake I meant to say its his video and the beat boxing is his trademark. But its not his voice. I just re-read my comment and noticed the mistake
One of the scenes was from gladiator! And what's with the beats and flying over snow top mountains?
Seems more like a teaser for a movie than a call for seeking sacred knowledge. I wonder how many would attend if the al-maghrib ads weren't so flashy. Is the deen really that boring in the eyes of some? Do we need to resort to movie type hype to draw people to the sacred knowledge? Good idea, or just a crutch for people's lack of interest? And what does the showiness imply in their minds?
i just came from there second seminar by Waleed Basyouni in Toronto, these guys are professionals, they know what they're doin and they really engage making it more of a interactive session than a seminar. Its a must for everyone to attend.
Ya akhi. This is the problem of the ummah. They try to make the haram halal. This is one of the signs of the day of judgement. Music is HARAM. Allah says in the Qran in surah Luqman, ayat 6, "And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allah"
Music is Haram no matter what type of beat they are using. The only time drums are permissable to use is during Jihad or during a wedding.
I'm fear diving into sufism will lead only to complete misguidance and I stay on the path of sunnah. Hence, I do not go to Zaytuna or other sufi institutes and prefer AlMaghrib any day.
Bismillah-As'salamu Alaikum-Please Brothers and Sisters! DO not make comments of division and fitnah! Learn from the examples of the teachers from both institutes how to differ, and enjoin the good and forbid the evil! And May Allah guide us all on the straight path! Ameen. If you really love your ummah, you make du'a for them, and pray that they are not in error.
I was listening to a lecture -- the speaker told us about how different the Four Calipha were -so utterly different, YET they were all Islam. Islam is a river, not a line. It is a river with many different people and different ways of life, coming together to worship ONE GOD!
May Allah swt join the hearts of the Muslimeen and may we remember to seek refuge in Allah at all times from the Tricks of Shaytaan! May we live and die in submittance to ALLAH
Salaam, bro dont try an make divisions itsok that you prefer Zaytuna but dont put one down there both really good and actively trying to make a difference i think instead of the critism they deserve congrats. Plus they both have really good scholors teachin for them so may Allah make there efforts successful
