I very much agree with Dave; however in spite of it all to have seen the house where he once lived holds some sort of Value, the same value that I feel when I read his books, the idea that those thoughts came from him, and can understand his view on things....thats is all....

I wouldn't go anywhere near that god awful place. I can only imagine how one would constantly be tripping over hangers on and half inspired wanna-bes. No you won't find me in a place that has turned into Disneyland for weekend hippies! If you want a piece of his being and life to take with you, eat a ten strip, chug a pint of Wild Turkey and accelerate down highway 82 while blasting Dylan and emtying the magazine on the handgun, sub-machine gun or assault rifle of your choice.

When perforated pharmecutical blotter paper was used back in the day for LSD, the sheet was divided into 100 small squares. Increments would be sold in full or half sheets, or twenty or ten strips. A ten strip is ten hits of LSD. I can eat two and not try to fly, transphase through walls at full speed or peel myself.

Thompson made a pilgrimage to Hemingway's house when he died and stole elk antlers from his cabin. I went up there after Thompson died and it was one of the best trips I ever made.

Painted and Stained there (Aspen) in "78". Great place, Spinach salad with bacon drip dressing and Crepes on the street were vunderbar. We will miss Hunter, saw an SCCA event near there years ago..know the woody creek area...The smell of fireplace aspen smoke will carry his spirit down Valley and into the beyond....
