  • You seem to have a solid grasp of this style of playing. You are truely a natural to rockabilly plucking.

  • Pleasure to listen to. Peeves me to watch and hear this style played with such fluidity and 'ease' and that my efforts are more like gorilla gripping with frozen sausage fingers.

  • Cheers dude ,youve just made a pissed off bloke smile,....thanks..

  • I cant have enuf of this greatly picked tune! Very well done! :)

  • ...first class..!

  • Great pickin'! Where'd you get that shirt? It's awesome! I need one.

  • Great picking...and where did you buy that groovy shirt?

  • Nice playing!!

  • hey great stuff i just got a gretsch 5120 i put some vids on here to great job

  • Really awesome playing, and a sweet guitar!

  • i held that beauty today at the store but i was 100 short it was hard to part from it =(

  • its that guitar orange

  • I really love that people are keeping this Travis-style music alive. Thanks for posting this!

  • Yes Yes yeah

  • is it bassy enough in neck position or always that "magic rockabilly picking" sound ?, because i love the look but play more chicago blues std ? ...thanks, and very good work, wish you the best , gaëtan(France )

  • @BELOROYAN : It has great lows, not always twangy. If I knew how, I could play nice jazz chords with it. Test drive one at your local guitar store. I've played a lot of gits and I love my inexpensive Gretsch 5120.

  • @ZapperJet - I admit, I stole parts from it.

  • Need the tab or what have you to this song, I can't get it outta my head, its so catchy!

  • Ahh! You have made me make up my mind! I was going to fork out that little bit extra and get the model up - but seeing you get that sound out of the 5120 and that color looks incredible! Will be getting this exact guitar! :O have wanted a gretsch for so long haha

You wouldn't have a tab or anything for this little tune of yours would you? or at least the little bits and pieces you do (the outro and other little rockabilly techniques)

    Cheers for an awesome video.

  • @Jakebones13 : For the price the 5120 is GREAT git. Find a shop that will let you play both 6120 & 5120 side by side. You will find it's $1000 for a small change of tone. Someday I will own a 6120 and that tone ...but for now I'm very happy.

Thank you for your kind compliments. My VERY best to you and yours.

  • Beautiful!!! :D

    Great guitar picking!

  • NICE!

  • Hit the harmonic, mug the camera, man that's playin' with _style_ love it , truly do

  • awesome

  • Love your playing style! I just can't seem to find those chords or keep my thumb going like that. Great job.

  • Love it !!!!!

Are you going to publish the music to this little gem?

Keep up the good work !!!

  • @ryudokarate I'm completely amateur. I wouldn't know how to reserve rights or publish it. I just make these songs up and play for fun.

  • Nice guitar, Nice playing.

  • Out of curiosity, how DID you paint the holes, tape the top off?

  • @bigdjindustriez I'm working on a short video showing my mods and decor. Thak you all for your interest in my git.

  • @bigdjindustriez he just uploaded a video

  • Excellent job man, these things are awesome when modded. I Should play mine more, but it doesn't stay in tune well. Did you do something to the F-Holes? it looks as though they've been painted to resemble binding

  • @bigdjindustriez Yes, I painted the F holes to resemble the 6120. I moved the anniversary badge to the front. Someday I will have a REAL Gretsch. LOL

  • @doctordeejay I thought of painting them as well... perhaps I will!

  • @bigdjindustriez - Don't use white as it was WAY too bright. I found a color called Ivory that matched the old dice knobs. The orange bled through a bit but I like the effect. Thanks for noticing the work on my pride & joy.

  • I'll never get tired of this... :)))

  • Thank You all for the nice comments. Makin' me feel gooood.

  • I'll never get tired of hearing this :))))) It's got all that 50's western groove that I love!

  • This really was GREAT!!!!! :)) Keep it up man! Rockabilly Rules!

  • Are you doing the Travis style picking using just your thimb and index finger?? You sound very good!!! Keep picking.

  • Thanks! I just bought a replacement 5120 for one I regretted getting rid of. Thanks a bunch for being such a good player. Excellent chops, my friend! TV Jones' are nice, but you're showing the Gretschbucker has nothing to be ashamed of. You're a damn fine guitarist, and this is real ear candy.

  • Exellent !*****

    ML

  • Excellent

  • Absolutely awesome!

Perhaps some day I can do that with my 5120...

    More please.....

  • What machine heads are those? I've been wanting to swap mine out for some mini Grover Rotomatics.

  • @bfv102290 Those are Sperzel Locking tuners. My bigsby and the gretsch tuners didn't get along well.

  • Damn that sounds sweet ! Very nice picking and cool sound from the stock buckers ! Compliments !

  • Very nice picking - this is a funny tune - lol.

Whats the name of the original Song - heard it a sometimes in slap stick movies.

    Greets,
