@FantasyJam It actually would not take very much optimization. The core code of Final Fantasy VII was written for the N64, and much of that code works on the NDS natively.

No, you have it all wrong. N64 can NOT be emulated on DS, It has 1.4 ish more CPU available. You usually need 3x more power to emulate something efficiently. And FF7 was written for the PS1, lol

I liked FF8 best o_o... Final fantasy 7's story line was pretty much just about revenge basically since... Zack died, Aeris died, Red XIII's dad died point being lotsa people died and most of the characters lost people and then theres the ancients and stuff and Sephiroth. FF8 had to do with like... Ultimecia and like government issues, the characters had a bit more detail in my opinion. o_o But I think most people decide which they like best depending on which they played first, 7 or 8 O.o

That's just a video played from a slot-2 cartridge.

While I think the DS could manage to run such a game, it's the size of it that is problematic (3 discs). Even though the movies are the only un-duplicated data on the discs, it's still quite too big to fit on a single 128MB DS card.

The DSi, on the other hand, could actually handle it with the additional SD slot, if developers are allowed to use it. Move the movies and other data onto a non-rewritable SD card, stick both cards in, and voila!
