half chinese/half white are beautiful but half white/half black/african etc produce results where the kids have serious behavioural issues. I believe with the latter it's because they have the worst of both worlds in them (example figures are the percentage of black/mixed schoolkids in england doesn't tally with the percentage of black/mixed schoolkids that are expelled - this continues into crime statistics if you look it up). Round our way there isn't one black mixed race kid that is polite!

This is what really annoys me about being mixed. You aren't usually deemed as "half-white". It's always half-Asian, and sometimes just Asian. If people are going to use the term "Asian" to describe someone who is Eurasian, wouldn't it be exactly the same to call them "white"?
I think the term "Half-Asian" is more relevent if you grow up in a Western country like the US, Aus etc. But if you go to Asia you'd be identified more as half-white. I think it's relative. Actually, HAPA did not come about b/c of the half asian half other ethnicity. It came from HAPA HAOLE that originated with Haoles and Hawaiian mixes pre-ASIAN immigrants.
Even so, hapa wasn't restricted to just asian and another ethnicity. It could also mean half Hawaiian and half other ethnicity as well because marriages with Hawaiians with other ethnicities were also noticeable

I'm an Asian man (100%) so I can only imagine what it's like to be mixed, and I find I have to adjust myself a bit just to relate to hapas, in comparison with other Asians, which comes naturally.
Like I can throw an insult the way of some people and if the guy is Asian he'll just laugh it off, but if the guy is mixed or something else he'll take offense and snap back.
I notice the way I get treated by hapas matters a lot if the dad is Asian, like two sides of a coin.

to IWTSYPthethird reply...in my ethnicity and language (HAWAIIAN) HAPA means half in a sentence, but when you refer HAPA to a person it means that the person is HALF or PART HAWAIIAN. we been using that word for people ever since the first generations of mix hawaiian back in the 1800s. then in the 1990s it became a slang for anybody of mix race. im not half asian half white, but i still call myself HAPA

Back then, there were a lot of asian immigrants from China, Japan, and the
Philippines
who came to Hawaii to work at the pineapple, supar cane plantations etc..
and from that came some interracial marriages, so being hapa was usually
being half asian and half other ethnicity

Actually, HAPA did not come about b/c of the half asian half other ethnicity. It came from HAPA HAOLE that originated with Haoles and Hawaiian mixes pre-ASIAN immigrants.
