I have an uncle who used to suffer from insomnia, depression and nausea, despite being on multiple prescription pills. I had to stay at his house for one weekend and help him, so I convinced him to try a joint (he was the only adult member of my family who knew I smoked). Now he smokes weed every day, has a decent job as a taxi driver, and has none of his former symptoms.
What i want to know is... does weed make me lazy or is it just such a psycoligical drug, then ( when on it-(always).)has the effect to make me belive anything people tell me especialy about weed. ie everyone i know tells me it makes me lazy, but would i have been lazy or demotivated without having ever heard these words.. without associating being demotivated with smoking.
@zantesh it depends on the weed a real strong indica can make you lazy but if you get something with a high amount of sativa it can actually motivate i love to get high before working i have been helping a friend remodel and i dont think we would have gotten half as much done as we have without smoking a jay before getting out the power tools lol

I don't know about the US but in the UK all drugs are classed (schedule I to IV) on their medical properties vs. their potential for abuse. So opioids, e.g oxymorphine, are potent analgesics and used regularly in medicine but it's their high potential for abuse that makes them scheduled drugs. I reckon weed is still illegal over here not because it's a "wonder drug" and would ruin pharmaceutical companies but because some people would abuse it and just smoke all day.

once you've given something a name, you've given it power. like the word "troll", calling a kid special ed because s/he seems different from the other kids. Not to mention what classifies weed as something so serious. it's given a name. I smoke it not to feel 'enlightened" but the feeling is wonderful and there's things I enjoy experiencing while "enlightened" a shower is certain nice. Maybe a few video games, draw a picture. I even smoke when I study for school and my grades are high up there..

It's funny how people keep mentioning how cannabis isn't addictive, because considering how much the people who use it blabber on about it, how many people have made it a damn social aspect of their lives, not to mention the countless little internet-bound rants revolving around it, who could blame someone for thinking it's addictive as all hell?
Personally, with the way the users act and talk about it, I'm getting VERY skeptic on the argument that it isn't "somewhat" addictive.

@ogith It is as addictive as any "non addictive" drug. Anyone who uses it to the exclusion of regular daily activities is addicted. Just like people who become addicted to alcohol or acid or sex or gambling. The difference is how much damage those things do to you.

@ogith addictive as hell? Hahaha I agree, it is somewhat addictive, but compared to caffeine, booze, nicotine, and other drugs its not anything....these others are way more addictive. I think the reason you hear a lot is because a lot of people wanna label themselves, and acting like "potheads" is just an identity thing for the most part. Just my opinion.

@ogith The 2 biggest reasons why people rant on and on about it is this: 1) The fact that it's illegal is a complete, fucking joke! It's not dangerous at all. Not 1 bit. Forget what un-experienced people tell you about the matter, they don't know! Imagine if they made ice cream illegal, you can imagine the kinds of rants you'd here then. 2) It's extremely enlightening to people who try it. You gain so much more perspective after you get high from weed the first time. You can't talk until u know.

Done weed and shrooms, and any sense of enlightenment strikes me as bullshit. It's a pleasurable chemical imbalance, fun, but no more a shedder of truths than dreams. And the shit has many of its own properties that can lead to physical and mental dysfunction over time, so the comparison to ice cream isn't justified.
It's not any more harmful than cigarettes or alcohol, nor even comparably with real drugs, and this is just fact.
The fanboys/girls are still annoying though.

I feel like I've just graduated with a Degree in DMT!! - The thing about Rogan is he gets so deeply invested with crazy subjects that in the end, he has this real "sit on the fence approach" which makes me think that the purpose of an open mind has the same purpose as an open mouth, it has to close on somethin', otherwise it's a selt-defeatin' endeavor. I thought this was a little extreme..0 deaths a year because of marijuana isn't true. there is no way that is true at ALL.Of course you cant overdose, but you can get in car accidents and kill you and other people.+If only1% of america uses pot regularly; of course the death rate will be low. I agree that it is not as hard as other drugs like alcohol but you really gotta moderate.
