  • You've defeated the purpose of wide-screen by using the 4:3 aspect in the game. Switch the play mode to arcade, not original. That must make it very weird to look at. IIDX isn't supposed to look like that.

  • Have you played on an arcade machine before? Simple question.

If you have, you will understand this argument. With the original setting, sure its at the normal 16:9 widescreen interface BUT the notes become too small along with the lanes. The distance between you and the screen is huge. Instead of the screen being 1-2 feet away from my face like in the arcade, it is 6-8 feet away. Which thus hurts timing even more than it should.

  • Yes I've played in the arcades, and I do agree with the distance/timing problem, but what I meant, was that if you have it on the original setting, on a 4:3 screen it seems scrunched together, and on a 16:9 screen it spreads out to exactly what the arcade is.

    Fullscreen + 1 player = normal size

    Widescreen + 2 players= normal size

    Fullscreen + 2 players= scrunched together

Widescreen + 1 player = Stretched way the hell out

  • I don't know about you, but on wide screens, the Arcade style aspect ratio still works for me, even when I sit farther away from the screen.

  • IS there a difference in look when using rca and s-video?

  • Yes, but only by a little. Component is FAR better, and of course HDMI is the best, but not compatible with a lot of game systems.

  • I have the exactly same tv, bought it last week, and the lag is terrible for rythm games. Good job dealing with it, but I decided to just stick to my old sdtv when playing IIDX.

  • timing adjust fixes it, don't forget to activate game-mode, it takes away your screen-delay for the most.

  • i agree frozenlpod but this seem fine agree will nice job

  • i suggest the 32 inch samsung hdtv

  • How do you make the game options change to be like the AC version - eg. to make high speed 2.0, press the lower white key 4 times? Mine is the scroll version. I have to scroll to the HS option and press any white button 4x. Is my version different or what?

  • go to options...then go to extra options. it's one of those

  • I'm going to get a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV for my 360. I was wondering if this is a good TV for my 360? Does anybody recommend me getting this TV or something else. Please help me decide.

  • yea i got this tv man its amazing wat it does with the 360

  • Yeah this is a pretty good tv !

  • the grafixs made me crap myself

  • i don't even know what to do in this game. what's the spinning disc on the right for? what do you do with it? i don't understand. i'm not stupid though, just confused.

  • This is just another music game. You play the game using a special controller made just for it. It has 7 keys like a piano and a turntable either on the left or the right side of the controller. You spin the turn table when the note hits the bottom of the screen. Same thing goes for the 7 keys. The moment the note hits the bottom you hit the keys on the controller. It's like being a DJ.

  • Correct...but its definitely not like being a dj haha

  • Don't ruin the fun. :(

  • What are you running the game with--Ps2, Pc emulator, etc? And do you need a mod chip/SwapMagic for the ps2 to run the games (if youre using that)? Sorry for all the questions, but im trying to get a copy of BmIIDX--but i know nothing about what i need to run the game, lol.

  • It's the home version of IIDX RED, so I bet he's running it on his Japanese PS2, both of which you probably need to import.

  • now... i understand why in a bravia i fail all songs that i play.. :(

    so sad...

  • Change the timing in the options. It won't make it perfect, but it will help a lot. From what I hear, a -2 change is usually what HDTVs need.

  • There is no timing adjustment option in RED. It only started in HAPPY SKY ;o

  • Oops... I am terribly sorry for the useless advice!

  • P.S.

I just the last stage (nebula grasper) and holy smokes.

Is the lag really that bad to even make a person who can pass the song on a CRT fail on any HDTV?

  • I have tried all 3 connections. Composites, S-Video and Components. Components might be less lag but it makes everything too damn blurry and messes with my eyes after prolonged use thus I don't like using the components option.

and yes the lag is that bad.

  • Doesn't S-Video produce the highest amount of lag among analog video cables?

May I suggest component cables? At least those would help ease the burden until there is a REAL solution for playing BM IIDX on HD displays.

  • I have the same monitor as you, but playing on that thing w/ IIDX RED below absolutely sucks. I hope you've ordered HAPPY SKY cuz' that one helps especially us HDTV users.

  • ahhhmmmm . .. no jap ps2 is hdtv unles its a mini.... im sure the timing is off for this guy

  • yea a lot of the LCD gives a little lag to IIDX. I'm having the same problem right now too its messing up my timming.

  • ur best bet is to just sacrifice and play on a non hdtv thats not a glass front .... i tried playin on a 60 inch lcd hdtv.... i was gettin b's on songs i normally aa
