Heya. Been following your vids, and you inspired me to get into the blood angels and start gaming. As i am JUST starting, what would you recommend for me to start up with?

Is there a special rule for your pods as i'm sure 50 percent of your pods have to come down first turn and you always seem to bring down them all at the same time

You are referring to "Drop Pod Assault" which is a special rule in Codex: Space Marines. Codex: Blood Angels does not have that special rule, so all of my pods use the regular deep strike rules. On turn 2 I roll a d6 and on a 4+ the pods come in. And so forth.

@Scremojunkie38 So... did you take a second to notice the date of this video? It is almost a year old. That would mean the codex I used when I played this game was NOT the current one that came out in the spring. Go take a look at the codex that was available when this video was posted. Drop pod assault is in the new codex. It was not in the PDF.

@TheMrLegenddave Actually this video predates the current Blood Angels Codex by at least six months. It was made using the old PDF codex, and Drop Pod Assault was not in that codex.

um jawaballs did they disembark then move and shoot? they can't do anything on there turn if they emergency disembarked, I'm afraid you may of gotten cheated but you still won the tourney if I remember right so I guess it doesn't matter.

Yah, on my turn they emergency disembarked. On his turn they moved into contesting and shot, killing my squad. I will look that one up!

it's page 67 IDK after reading it i'm going to bring it up tonight with my group and see what the consensus is.

It's pretty clear. If emergency disembark happens at the top of a turn, the models cannot do any thing on the bottom. My squad should have lived, and victory should have been mine. But as some one pointed out, I won the whole thing any way. Drawing that game landed me against my round three opponent, against whom I scored a massacre. I can't say I would have been so successful against a different army. Fate seemed to favor me!

Do you ever open the doors on your drop pods in the game? With a bs2 stormboler there is no need to shoot but would you not get extra range when disembarking from them?

So was the 'secret' objective contested or what?

you wouldnt get extra range, it has to be

2" from the hull of the vehical, just like the doors of a rhino dont get you extra range because they are open

I still fired the storm bolters. When you drop a pod, the doors have to open. If the doors are glued, you still treat them as opened for LoS. And no, you dont measure distance from the doors. Once the pod drops it is as if the doors never existed.

Mech Eldar are pimp at this mission. THose tanks are near impossible to destroy, and they are shaped such that they can squeeze in to just about any hole, and contest objectives.
