  • Lots of people in the world are alone and hermitized because they all want to be Gods, Kings, Queens; afraid of humility, compromise. The delusion that supercontrol taught by world corporate media bombardment, can make you stronger, leading to happiness and success. Being afraid and alone. Go out and mix. Be, among others. One thing I like better is being face to face, in person, and all the meet me here, what d'yalook like, r u a monster, get a phone no. crap is bypassed.

  • Oh thank you for sharing that! I am a visual artist and that poem really struck a note with me too. I found you on here because I just got dumped for the first time and my heart is in a million pieces and your dumped video helped me- anyone who commiserates helps me at this point. We have a thing or two in common. I am glad to have found you on here. I hope your heart is much better now.

  • psychobabble-ist but often reads good poetry and is intelligent . . .

  • as someone how writing most of the time it can be hard to connect with other people. ah thanks to places like you tube :)

  • Nice!

  • I like the vision of the world cafe'...the ordinary...even the critics. I hope you do go out, because I tend towards being alone. I think of a quote Kathleen Norris shared from her Mentor, Betty Kray- "You say you weren't writing in Maine, but visiting,walking...well, You were accumulating your poems, germinating them...They will be woderful when they come out, never fear their slowness." I really like to hear your poems, thank-you.

  • That was amazing.

  • Jiddu Krishnamurti

"So all this brings us to a certain point, which is: that one must be a complete light to oneself. As we are not light unto to ourselves, we rely on others. As you are listening, you are relying on the speaker to tell you what to do. But ...he is asking you to examine, he is telling you how to examine and what is implied in the examination. By examining very carefully, you are free of all dependence and you are a light to yourself. That means you are completely alone."

  • Great poem. You look tired. Sounds like things are going pretty well however. Don't you know there is something surreal about attending your daughter swimming, while reading Bukowski? gaaah... that's like peacefully swimming while a shark fin glides behind you.

  • very nice poem. I guess it depends on the art form as far as being lonely. I can see someone composing music, painting or writing but perhaps if you did a collaboration it wouldn't be so lonely. For instance Leonardo and Mona Lisa, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, George Bush and Dick Cheney.

  • haha

  • nice reading. and nice introduction to the poem

  • Alone? Well, my goodness! Don't be that.

    Phone a friend!

Set up velvet ropes and a ticket window and let friendly families come and show their children: artist at work!

  • Man have I been there!

  • I understand solitude... sometimes I'm at the complete opposite end of the spectrum though... All I want is a bit of privacy, a bit of peace, and I just don't find it. If I knew no one could hear and no one could see, I would cry, I would scream, but all I can do is bury it away and forget until I can't forget, and then I HAVE to get away... Good find, I'll be checking out Bukowski when I get a chance.
