When i was younger i loved making these, i had an extendable straw type thing that you could just adjust the pitch instead of having to screw up the straw permanently. was a lot of fun :)

Hi Chris - The secret is getting the straw flat enough. This is easier with some straws that others, but is pretty fun once you get it going. Keep exploring.

I have an idea of what you could do to make it more like an istrument, do the same thing that he did, but then cut small holes on the top of the straw, then it will sound a different note depending on what holes you are covering
