Ivan Rijos is one of the greatest contemporary performers--if not the greatst. But where has he been in the last ten years or so? Is he still performing? Did he maintain the same level of musicianship since these recordings were made?

Actually Ivan Rijos was my teachers teacher, in fact i am from Puerto Rico. My teacher is probably one of the best student guitarist in the conservatory, if not the whole island. He has woe two international competitions, and is a very tough, and is an exelent teacher. Now i have met Ivan although i have not actually seen him play in person. The amount of respect he is treated with is just inncredible. He easily one of the best guitarists in the modern world.

At at the vendor's fair at the 1987 GFA festival, I saw Ivan Rijos improvising a counter melody alongside Ricardo Cobo, while Cobo was playing "Aranjuez". Pretty phenomenal talent, and I've broadcast his music on Classical Guitar Alive! radio program several times. Thanks for uploading this video!
