America when the Pilgrims landed, falling as a result of disease, combat, and demoralization to only 250,000 by the time our Indian Wars ended in 1890. In South America (not completely sure if this counts) statues of the god Viracocha have braided sun beards. But as he's a deity that could be simply his sun rays. The Codex Nuttall on the other hand is a History codex of rulers with their clothing indicating status etc

So where do people stand on the issue of the Aztecs being the largest cannibal culture on the planet in history ? Evidence suggests that the sacrifices were eaten, as in every other sacrificial religious culture. The Mexico valley had very little in the way of supplies of meat animals too.

(However I think this is so silly given the fact that it happened so long ago). It's so terrible that they destroyed so much of our fascinating culture but I must say that I don't know if I would have wanted to live in a time and place where people were sacrificed to keep god(s) happy on a daily basis.

Quiriguá Stela A, Stela E, the famous Chamá vases, etc.
All of them depictions of pre-conquest origins. Americans didn't had beards like vikings, that's a fact, but they had!!! they just didn't used it until old ages. Bishop Landa mentions that yucatec maya (XVI th century) used to shave and "burn" follicles to have no beards.

In South America (not completely sure if this counts) statues of the god Viracocha have braided sun beards. But as he's a deity that could be simply his sun rays. The Codex Nuttall on the other hand is a History codex of rulers with their clothing indicating status etc
Quetzalcoatl also has a beard in the "Codex Borgia", but he also has a duckbil and shape shifts into a feather snake so take that as you will.

Aztecs just survived because they were good at fighting, and they were a very powerful military force.
But Mayans survived because they were advanced, but they also had good fighters aswell.

No the Aztecs,Mayans,Toltecs,Olmecs and incas were studiers of Astrtronemers and Mathematicians. So not just the Mayans were advanced but pretty much all the tribes before and after the Mayans.

So where do people stand on the issue of the Aztecs being the largest cannibal culture on the planet in history ? Evidence suggests that the sacrifices were eaten, as in every other sacrificial religious culture. The Mexico valley had very little in the way of supplies of meat animals too.

The Aztec capital was one of the biggest in the world during the 15th Century CE. BTW, Teotihuacán was also the largest in 1500 CE. However, like many of the Great Empires...History has the tendency to repeat itself.

What do you think the other Mexican tribes at the times called the Aztecs? That's right, INVADERS.

yeah but its not the Aztecs fault that they took land from other tribes. it was the other tribes who would attack the Aztecs first, so its their fault the Aztecs took their land thats how the Aztecs were driven from the Valley of Mexico into Lake Texcoco in the first place, because other tribes attacked them and drove them their. its their fault for attacking them in the first place. So its the other tribes fault that they lost their land, they shouldnt have attacked the Aztecs in da first place

so NO the Aztecs werent invaders like the Spaniards. the Aztecs were attacked by other tribes from the Valley and so the Aztecs attacked back and the Aztecs won so they took their land. and the Aztecs would sacrifice mostly prisoners of war, not innocent people. and by the way, the Europeans were the ones who wrote most of todays Pre-columbian history so theyre obviously going to lie exaggerate and twist the truth so they can portray the Indians as savages. eg. 20000 sacrifces a year thats B.S

You are so silly, it's almost not worth responding too. For one, prisoners of war are not innocent people? They are ok to kill?
And the Aztecs killed thousands of people of all types. And they were vicious and took land from other tribes. They used slaves and engaged in human sacrifice.
Were they a great civilization? Unquestionably, but this habit to white wash non-Europeans is intellectually dishonest.
There isn't a real difference between these cultures.
They sought power.

Please, the Spanish couldn't have accomplished what they did without the willing support of other tribes that hated the Aztecs for their reign of terror.
Again, it's just so very typical to paint one group of people, by virtue of their DNA as being morally better than another.
People are almost always at heart violent.

the indians in the u.s. also built huge mound cities and and 2 level, city block long log houses for their clans and we all had wheels, however we didnt have huge beasts of burden for industry, we always knew the world was round unlike the spaniards who thought the world was flat, we alsoi built the first stucco like quarters, and only lived in teepee when following the buffalo, we even gave the idea of a constitution to whites, we all are greater than most whites like to believe.

well infact,nezahuacoyotl was a great engineer, thanks to him aztecs built dams and bridges. its amazing when you realize that tenochtitlan had an acueduct system, and in europe , all were dying of a lot of diseases

Good Vid. The Aztecs remind me of The Romans, mayas of the greeks etc. Its kind of werid though that they Aquaducts look like the same of the Roman Aquaducts. Also the pictures of the Pyrminds are mayan so yeah just putting it out there

yea I actually used pictures of the Roman aqueducts for the effect that Aztecs created that kind of technology with no contact with European culture at all (plus I couldn't find any good picture of Aztec aqueducts haha)
