well, i played the beta, and i never lagged IN GAME, but they were having alot of problems with their servers. i was constantly getting DCed from the game entirely, which made me restart the game so i could log back in. Otherwise, it was a great experience. Kinda like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Awesome game.... when it works.

it wont lag becouse there using sony dedicated servers the reason the cboc servers lag easily is becouse its player hosted while mags servers arent player hosted

ps3 is technologically superior to 360 full stop. xbox is older has been out longer andits nearing if not pushing its limits. ps3 is as good as or better atm, and its just tipped over half its potential, the xbox uses standard dvd, ps3 has blu-ray, (25, 50, and 100gb) mgs4, 1 disk, xbox would need 4, there is no comparison where tech is concerned, ps3 is simply better.

I think that the ps3 IS technologically superior to the 360 as you said but the only thing is the 360 has some ups on the ps3 like xbox live and some better exclusives. If every game that is on the 360 was on the ps3, id get a ps3.

Warhawk was a good online game for me, but others have different opinions. I prefered Banjo Kazooie on the Nintendo 64, I heard they were better than the new one.

you do not really get it do you. mag is more than it a ps3 game. computers have better resolution and just a fast if not faster than a ps3. but max player in any including battlefield2 is 64. now mag will of 256 see a ps2 is a 1080 i my comp limited my its monator is a 1440 i but can go to a full 2350 i jsut to clear it up so that means i can see more picture than a ps3 by 3 time a big. now that is not the thing here it the game they found a way to beat lag
Servers don't do all the work, people seem to forget that 255 players and their movements/explosions caused have to go down another person's internet connection.
I lag in Left 4 Dead primarily when: a ton of zombies are on-screen. That's about 30-40 different things moving.

Definitely not RTS. Well, this game will be strategic, and focus on engaging in team orientation and all that, but theyre still deciding whether to make it an FPS, or a Third Person Shooter. I hope they pull out an FPS.
It's an RTS and an FPS/TPS. The commander will be able to command the squads like in battlefield 2. Tell them were to go from an overhead map or lead them in the fight.
We still don't know if it's an FPS or TPS though. But Zipper want to make this game appeal to a lot of people so my best bet is that it will be both. Like star wars battlefront 2 was. Go in the options menu and chose FPS or TPS. That would be there best thing to do get it out to as many people as they can.
If they find games for you the matchmaking better work. I'm tired of going 5-1-38(never happened yet) in Cod WaW because of the shitty matchmaking. The best they could do is what warhawk did. A lobby system like Last gen with the ability to go into rooms that only allow certain ranks.
let's say you just bought the game but you don't want to get owned. you adjust the filters so the rank is at something you can handle. let's say theres 60 ranks. you search for a game with rank 1-5 allowed only.
Not sure about everyone else but this sure sounds to me like a modern day "Planet Side" hopefully thought out with some replay value..... Also if anyone remembers Planet Side at its peak it was pretty much flawless no lag, zoned capture the base type battles and from the birds eye view of things M.A.G looks very similar to that......
Do you realize how online gaming works? Any server over 16 players for consoles is a dedicated server. Which means the company, or Sony in the case of 1st party games, runs the servers. And Dedicated servers never have any lag if set up right.
It takes only a few bytes of bandwidth to host an 8 player game so if the servers were not dedicated (which they are) you would only need about a 2MB internet connection to get no lag servers. And 2-5MB connections are about the most common ones.

as obivously it is impossible for a nomral dedicated server to play up to 256 players and not lag at all..
but Steam Power Server means that every person connected to the game are sharing there internet connection to give the servers a really high fucking boost to the servers.
I used to think that 30 vs. 30 was big in resistance 2 but 256 players!!! that's insane... I hope we get to respawn though because it would suck have to wait until 256 players are dead!

Actually, the game has been made and is fully working. Sony are just buying as much servers as they can now to fix any issues for the 256 player matches.
They didnt make the same mistake as socom and released the game just because production has finished.
This is the game that makes online gaming future proof!!

dude you know what i think mag is gonna be. you kno how in socom all the rooms can hold up to 256 players... well with mag the room is gonna be the actual game and it will be divided into sections, 8v8 which was the normal thing back in socom. so each room is gonna be one big game goin on, i think

roflcopter at that. your joking right? well actually i'd love that if they made it so in all 3 games you can play across platforms. that would make it SO fun. would be kinda unfair though since on ps3 there would be a farther field of view (from the cell) and on 360 there would be simpler aiming (controller is better)

sry, but this game is a ps3 exclusive, so far the only game that i heard of that can play pc, ps3 and 360 vs is unreal turnament, but im not sure.

lol yea we have alot more buttons and able to do alot but ive played both it really more or less soft and system compadability i have killzone 2 wicked great play but still a bit doom styled. now i stopped with bf2 after i got hacked and my stats ruined and wiped. lol geuss they hated me comanding so much but hell it haerd to beat me in comand. and before i got wiped i was the 10th comander in the world and i do admit to a mouse being a bit more accurate

Definitely not RTS. Well, this game will be strategic, and focus on engaging in team orientation and all that, but theyre still deciding whether to make it an FPS, or a Third Person Shooter. I hope they pull out an FPS.

It's an RTS and an FPS/TPS. The commander will be able to command the squads like in battlefield 2. Tell them were to go from an overhead map or lead them in the fight.
We still don't know if it's an FPS or TPS though. But Zipper want to make this game appeal to a lot of people so my best bet is that it will be both. Like star wars battlefront 2 was. Go in the options menu and chose FPS or TPS. That would be there best thing to do get it out to as many people as they can.

If they find games for you the matchmaking better work. I'm tired of going 5-1-38(never happened yet) in Cod WaW because of the shitty matchmaking. The best they could do is what warhawk did. A lobby system like Last gen with the ability to go into rooms that only allow certain ranks.
let's say you just bought the game but you don't want to get owned. you adjust the filters so the rank is at something you can handle. let's say theres 60 ranks. you search for a game with rank 1-5 allowed only.

Not sure about everyone else but this sure sounds to me like a modern day "Planet Side" hopefully thought out with some replay value..... Also if anyone remembers Planet Side at its peak it was pretty much flawless no lag, zoned capture the base type battles and from the birds eye view of things M.A.G looks very similar to that......

Do you realize how online gaming works? Any server over 16 players for consoles is a dedicated server. Which means the company, or Sony in the case of 1st party games, runs the servers. And Dedicated servers never have any lag if set up right.
It takes only a few bytes of bandwidth to host an 8 player game so if the servers were not dedicated (which they are) you would only need about a 2MB internet connection to get no lag servers. And 2-5MB connections are about the most common ones.

Pssst Huxley is instanced so you can only get 64 people in the same map. 5000 people in total but you can only play with 63 others at any given time.

you're right about uncharted but bioshock is terrible on ps3. there's so many glitches on it. the game runs smooth on 360 and crashes on ps3.

your all wrong. MAG server are going to use "Steam Powered Server"
do you know what that means?
i will explain.
as obivously it is impossible for a nomral dedicated server to play up to 256 players and not lag at all..
but Steam Power Server means that every person connected to the game are sharing there internet connection to give the servers a really high fucking boost to the servers.
its like P2P servers once you think about it.
MAG is the first game to try Steam Powered Server

Actually, the game has been made and is fully working. Sony are just buying as much servers as they can now to fix any issues for the 256 player matches.
They didnt make the same mistake as socom and released the game just because production has finished.
This is the game that makes online gaming future proof!!
