I teach elementary students and I love this video! I'm sharing it with my fellow teachers. I do understand the many different feelings and reactions this video brings out based on all the different view points out there (students, parents, teachers), and so on. This video reminds us that each student is an individual, with unique abilities.
The vast majority of teachers I know want so badly to follow the message this video espouses... but standardised testing and the terrible curiculum do not allow it.
This is a favorite of mine. It highlights the different young learners and how each takes its own learning style.. Not since Sigmund Freud did this video impact as it does on how students learn and what form they need to take in order to be successful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and now we know so does success and what that means to each growing child.Carm

This is a horrible message to lovely music. It argues school damages talent and growth. School is the tool for a well-rounded, intelligent citizenry. Participate, don't attack.
this was played to are school today , but there where so many heads in the way i couldnt read all the words so i just typed it up on hear to find it .. and the frames cut of alot of the words... but still its amazing and glad i could read what i could
As a parent of special needs kids, I love the message. However, as an educator, I think that we are trying to make ALL ducks run and ALL squirrels fly, when they are not designed to do so. For instance, if a student were color blind, no amount of tutoring will make him proficient in using a color wheel. We need to find their proficiency and help them excel at it.
All though is a good story, the letters get cut off and one losses the pace of the story trying to make out what has been written...I'll like to see it corrected! I think is sooo worth it!
Can someone PLEASE remake this so the words on the screen are not cut off? I would love to forward this to all the teachers, but there are many frames where the words do not show up
We just watched this video in our elementary school faculty meeting and I loved it so much I thought I'd come mark it as a favorite so that I can come back to watch it whenever I want.
What a beautiful and poignant message to all who are in the field of educating the young. Every parent, teacher, social worker, granparent, aunt, uncle, pastor, and youth leader should see this!

Love it. Obviously, I'm so sharing it. I was sad that words were cut off, though. I kind of lost track of the story.

It's a pity that this is a pirated copy and the person who added this video is essentially a thief.

I think you missed the message. Or have a limited view into the differences in children. school taught you to be short sighted and selective

Exactly there are some skills people can never pick up; no amount of practice, positive thinking or patronizing handbooks will solve that.
