Yeah both singers are fantastic. SP's voice is nasal and softer while AP's voice is more solid and a little bit husky. We just have to remember that both are tenors thus they sometimes sound same. I love listening to both.

Went to the Journey concert at Jones Beach, NY last night and they were GREAT!!! Arnell is amazing. I mean his vocals are sick... he definetly lacks the authentic showmanship of the original, but I thouroughly enjoyed the concert! If you closed your eyes, which I did at one point, you hear Perry!!!

@iampower714 What you're hearing may be from the editing. Steve does have a slightly smoother bluesy voice, Arnel is a slightly rougher, rock n roll style. But we're all used to hearing Steve sing these songs so I think we naturally default to the original. Props to them both.

Steve Perry’s voice is very signature! No matter how they mix it to Arnel Pineda's voice I can still notice which one is Steve Perry! You can feel the different between the 2 voices. Steve Perry is effortless with emotion in it. Arnel is forced.

Both are great however I preferred Steve Perry singing Journey’s songs. These are belongs to you Steve!

Both are amazing singers with fantastic (and similar) voices, but I prefer Steve for a few reasons. First, he seems to "feel" the songs he is singing. He takes control of the emotion, claims it as his own. I sometimes feel like Arnel is just belting it out. Second, Steve just gives off a swagger-ish vibe. Like he knows he's incredible. Some people may not like that, but I do. And third, he is the original. But I have plenty of respect for Arnel and can't wait to see him in October!
